1. We had one post paid sim activated for international roaming from India. And we bought one Sim for data and local calling from Vietnam. From Vietnam sim you can’t make voice call to India but you can do whatsapp call.
2. Yes we booked hotel for that night also. It costs us 27 USD extra for early checkin.
3. Our hotel is at Hanoi Old Quater. Amader total trip ta ekta local tour company arrange korte help korechilo. So approx hotel cost 35-40 USD /day er moto chilo inclusive Breakfast. Online hotel booking cost is high. Try to book by call them directly or via local tour company.

How did you book cab from Hanoi airport on arrival? Through app? or
Was it provided by the hotel?
And what about sim card and currency exchange?

The best way to book cab in vietnam is Grab app. Avoid meter taxi. But we had pre booked pick up from airport by a local tour agency.
For the Sim card you can get plenty of shop there. Airport is costly. And the best place for currency exchange is any gold shop.

Is hotel booking is necessary to show Vietnam trip....for immigration process in Hainoi or in india airport

Immigration are not that strict. Only Visa and passport needed
