Zholkva is a small town of Renaissance type. It is located in Lviv region, and it reminds something of Lviv itself. The city of Zholkva in Lviv region was built according to the principle of "ideal cities" and is one of 200 such preserved in Europe. At first it was a personal city-residence with a fortress and defensive walls, then - a royal residence. Żolkwa was a center of trade and crafts, as well as a center for the development of art, philosophy, religion and book publishing. The town with 100 sights is protected as a nature reserve, one church is under the world protectorate of UNESCO. For the fifth century people have been admiring the beautiful Renaissance architecture of Žolkva, built by Italian architects.
