People that missed the "and Strategy" at the end of the channel name, there is "and Strategy" at the end of the channel name. This is not a Starcraft-only channel.
Same here, I am quite interested in picking it up myself after seeing both the WTF is and this video. Tooth and Tail seems to be one of those games that not only look but genuinely are a lot of fun as well. Oh and this part to anyone who says that its just a lot of RNG because of the map and the like... How you deal and take advantage of an unknown situation is also a skill, otherwise what's the point of having the fog of war? c(:
This is awesome. The majority seems to really like the content. I hope this games' community grows larger even after release to keep the ladder continually kicking and scratching.
This game is so fun, really weird how I didn't see any marketing behind it at all since it gives me a real ESports feel with quick matches and gameplay based purely around build order/personal skill. Hope it manages to stay alive in the multiplayer scene, most of the people I've talked to about it just had the same "Ugh, strategy game? Those drag on forever" reaction, which is literally the core mainstream appeal problem this game is trying to solve.
Yeah it's been a while since the game's released and competitive has already started to feel like a drag for me tbh. Much more fun to play 2v2 or try dumb builds with friends on local multiplayer. I think the biggest issue for the game rn is that the two core systems of multiplayer feel like they're clashing with each other. Building a roster of units into a "deck" is all about metagame knowledge and understanding what units work in different scenarios. But with random maps, it's basically impossible to plan a strategy ahead of time since you have no idea what you're getting into. On the flip side, random maps can be really good at showing off your adaptability and knowledge of game mechanics but if you bring a roster of units that are totally screwed over by the map composition, it won't matter. Because it's so difficult to plan ahead of time and have these big battles with a decent mix of units, people just play ultra-aggro and it makes the game straight-up not fun most of the time.
But don´t do random maps with hidden unit composition show better the skill of a player? It is not like "oh this is map xyz and the enemy is this and that therefore I do this" ?
They do, as long as at least one of these conditions is true: A) The randomness does not provide an advantage or disadvantage to any of the players. Fischer Chess, a variant of chess with randomized positions, is a good example - while the positions of the back row pieces are randomized at the start, both players get the same layout. If your Queen is placed in a corner of the board, so is your opponent's. B) The game is intended to be played across many, many rounds against the same opponents, with all players getting some good and bad luck and the best player coming out on top. Poker is a decent example - good players can land many unwinnable hands in a row, and still end up winning the table. Unfortunately, Tooth and Tail does not work this way: A) Starting positions can heavily favor one player over another, to the point that the favored player needs to make serious mistakes in order for his opponent to have a chance at winning. B) In competitive play, you don't get to play dozens of rounds against the same opponent - at best, you would get a Best of 3, and it's very easy to get massively disadvantaged start positions twice in a row. As a result, you get a game where you can have no chance of winning, due to no fault of your own, which tends is extremely frustrating to anyone with a competitive mindset.
ok i bought the game on gog (first time buying from gog). Immediatly on starting the game it ran horribly. Like 10fps or less....just horrible. Fiddled with graphics.....putting it on lowest graphics helped a bit but still hardly playable fps. So I restarted it but right clicked the icon on my desktop and chose manually to run if with my nvidia card. Upon restarting it ran properly..............................but now there's a caveat of sorts. It slows down every so often. and it feels rly jagged....like when u move your character u move the screen and it feels like its running like crap still, jaggedly. The minimum specs for this game are.....like mobile worthy. No friggin way this thing shouldn't run anything other than super friggin smoothly. I hit the options and it says im running anywhere from 40-70fps though..it doesn't feel like its that high tho. doesn't seem worth 25 bucks so far. story is rly ....texty. and the text is hard to read. feels like a console game really. couch game....but for reason reason it makes you read shitty small text. the controls are also not very good feeling on keyboard and mouse.....and its confusing how you get your troops to attack and into position properly. buy it on sale guys....and buy it off steam so you can auto return it if you dont like it. you apparently can't do that on gog....or thats what it told me anyways, only if u have the min system specs and can't run it can you return it on gog....which is kinda lame af when im paying a premium, and im getting less than i get on steam? what? This wasn't worth 25 bucks so far....hopefully the multiplayer is really as good as tb says it is. Like I watched his 3 videos on it! there's like 4 hours of gameplay he does...and i loved watching him and his commentary and all that. im playing it now tho and it looks alot shittier even tho im running highest graphics, and its got hta jagged movement camera thing going on .....and i cant tell if thats normal or not cause u can kinda see it in his videos here. disappointed af atm. Feels like a great free game. or a game you'd spend 5 dollars on....not 5 times that much. Heck, shouldn't this game be free instead? ANd mbe we just pay for skins like in a moba....that seems like abetter business model. But then again you got people like me watching streams of it and falling for it and buying.
story was completed over 2 nights. Its a dark story yes, but that assumes you actually sit there straining your eyes reading every little boring discussion. Otherwise honestly most of it willl go right over your head.....and you won't really care either way. It has some cool points to it. But its hampered by horrible texty storytelling....bad dialogue....bad voice acting or whatever u call the voices in this...and its short and all over the place. 3-5 hour story content. And multiplayer on GOG is nonexistent....even tho THEY SAID THEY WOULD CROSSPLAY WITH STEAM/PS3!!! Such bullshit, it was part of what we paid for and stilll you bullshit us wtih delays? cmon... 25 bucks for 5 hours of 64 bit single player. The ai is brain ded as can be in this game, and it cheats like no tomorrow. Also there is no text....no way to communicate with the people you play with online. nothing. Not even lan or custom games....no text feature lol. no way to contact them at all.
buy on steam fully prepared to test it out for the 2 hour limit, and return it. If it runs smoothly at 60fps for you....great. If you play 30 mins of the story and you want 3-4 more hours of that? great.... Spend at least 40 minutes online though even if you suck, cause that will give you an idea what all your gametime is gonna be spent doing. its what you are buying for 20 bucks on steam...25 on gog for less content hahahah.
What a neat and interesting little game. I am definitely getting into this. I adore interesting takes on RTS, and this game appears to be a riot. Not to mention it is adorable as hell; yes quite charming indeed.
You know I don't usually watch RTS videos because things always happen that I don't understand well enough considering Red Alert 2 and Generals were my childhood and are usually boring to watch. This though looks like a game I can really follow with the gameplay. I hope for more like this.
You can wall off using barbed wire. You can skip tier 1 and immediately get Falcons if you rush it early (after first pig you immediately get falcon; It's a cheese strat). Every strat in starcraft can be done in this game if you learn all the units.
I really didn't think this was that fun of a game. The WTF didn't reaööy sell me either. But, jsut watchnig you maniacly enjoying this... make me interested to pick it up. :D
This is why profesional age of empire matches are always best ofs and any player can force one do over each per round. Because random map gen can be amazingly unfair on occasion.
theres a mod that gives them a lil sock on the end of their tail. but their also supposed to have little manes of animal teeth on their backs, doesnt translate to pixel art though :/
The story of the game is that everybody decided being carnivore is the real deal and only pigs eat "food of the beasts" (not meat) and the pigs are actually food themselves (also, nobody likes old pig meat). The animals who win also eat their enemies.
I just want to see him against players like arbuz, chipfromoutterspace, or zeno_akoop, he'd get so stomped it'd be hilarious, right now he's just beating up low tier ladder scrubs. (BTW all those players i mentioned have twitch channels under same name if you really need more high level TnT content in your life)
"Patience is a virtue, seldom found in you. Let's go kill your shit because you are poo."
Totalbiscuit 2017
I laughed so hard when TB shouted "Destroy whatever this is! It looks expensive!"
The whole power trip he as on while on the first badger push was hilarious.
expensieve units dying, enemies crying
get fucked get fucked unexpected badger rush get fucked get fucked :D haha
I absolutely lost it when he went maniacal with the badgers.
I haven't heard TB this homicidally happy in ages :D
People that missed the "and Strategy" at the end of the channel name, there is "and Strategy" at the end of the channel name. This is not a Starcraft-only channel.
Yes but this game isn't SC2.
+mazzadude You didn't actually read the comment did you?
This isn't a strategy it is an RTS.
mazzadude are you having a stroke?
Real time strategy is not strategy? Long live the alternative facts.
I wouldn't mind more Tooth and Tail on this channel.
Same here, I am quite interested in picking it up myself after seeing both the WTF is and this video. Tooth and Tail seems to be one of those games that not only look but genuinely are a lot of fun as well.

Yup, definitely more Tooth and Tail :)
Next week: "Who the hell proxies a badger?!"
"That's a fucking angry badger!!" Hahaha. This is amazing.
This is awesome. The majority seems to really like the content. I hope this games' community grows larger even after release to keep the ladder continually kicking and scratching.

You can't have a real competitive scene with random maps.

I lost it at "Be wery wery quiet................
*whispers* I'm building mines."
I liked this, thanks for posting TB. I think that guy with the badger was so scared of your mines that that's why he didn't make the final push.
Haven't really played much RTS more of a TBS kinda guy so I struggled playing the multiplayer alot, watching this stream helped alot! Thanks @TB
i miss you my fav british gamer
Nobody expects the badger rush.
omg more of this plz
I'm new to the RTS genre and some of the tips and advice in this stream and your WTF is video have been very helpful. TYVM
rly enjoyed this, thanks. the badger match and the one a bit earlier with the defensive guy recking ya were great.

This game is REALLY entertaining to watch! So surprisingly dynamic and fluid! :O
This was pretty fun TB, any plans to do more T&T?
Maybe, I like playing it and if people like watching it, sure
Go for it, this game would make a good tournament series if y'know. Blizzard wouldn't despise you to do that.
Really enjoying this game and thanks for doing a WTF on it! Surprised at how much I have been enjoying it!
I was actually Tutorial Boss in that last game, didn't even notice I was playing against TB. GG.
What a neat and interesting little game. I am definitely getting into this. I adore interesting takes on RTS, and this game appears to be a riot. Not to mention it is adorable as hell; yes quite charming indeed.
I miss him so much.
Well, I'm sold.
Take a sip every time he says the word badger
The psychotic gleeful rage of TB when he successfully pulls of the Badger Rush(TM) is just glorious 😂
I really wanna see more of this it looks like a blast.
I love it.
Noone expects the Spanish Iquis.... ANGRY BADGER!!!
boom.
You know I don't usually watch RTS videos because things always happen that I don't understand well enough considering Red Alert 2 and Generals were my childhood and are usually boring to watch. This though looks like a game I can really follow with the gameplay. I hope for more like this.
I would love to see some more of this.
Who gave these squirrels guns?
Better question, who gave these squirrels alcohol AND guns!?!
Every day is a bad fur day for the Distillery Brothers. ;D
I love watching you play Tooth and Tail
Because although I love the hell out of the game
I am shit at it
sick haiku
I have to say. Devs missed a golden opportunity to make a Turtle unit that works well for turtlelling strategies.
A snapping turtle (it has to be a carnivore) with a cannon on its back would've been ideal for a tank-like tier 3 unit.
This was very fun to watch TB nice video.
Miss you TB.
Those faction chants you get after the match is over are glorious.
More T&T please! I'm not a RTS player really but this is really accessible and I enjoy watching it!
This looks super fun. I might have to buy it when I have some spare money laying around.
love this.. as soon as i'm able gonna pick up this game.. looks so good.
Man, that was so fun to watch! Please upload more T&T videos!
It's Starcraft and STRATEGY so yeah. More rts please lovin it.
Total War Warhammer would fit perfectly on this channel.
Boy, I could watch this all day. Will we be seeing more of Tooth & Tail from you?
The biggest problem i had with watching this was seeing how much food you keep floating, don't be afraid to spend! :p
The channel! It's alive!!!
This game is surprisingly good! Definitely the best competitive RTS for non-koreans
Quite a lovely game, doesn't hit my tastes personally but I enjoy watching you play it.
I cant help but remember the badger song when i saw this strat.
Can we have more? I wanna see more of ya going at folks
Did you know you can place mines anywhere even outside your territory
I'd subscribe for Tooth and Tail videos. Starcraft doesn't have gristle mills.
@TB - If you'd be so kind and do more of this. This video had me forget the world we live in for an hour.
BADGER RUSH! HA HA HA HA AAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Dude, i was dying lmao
i get a pikmin vines from this.
It's because you control your army with a character instead of a mouse cursor.
Bonus points for said character actually being a mouse. :D
Great content. You should organize a TnT tournament similar to what you guys have done for Blood Bowl :)
Fuck it. Im buying this.
axelxan waiting to see you at the battlefield!
Any chance you can make more videos of this?
Chicken fuck off did he..... 😳
Chicken fuck... 😔
Cheers for telling me. I would never of known and waited for an upload...
I hope to see more videos like this :)
that last round was amazing
omg I laughed so hard at the badger-rush hahaha
That was really fun to watch
loving this game. gonna purchase it today and try my hand at ladder after getting sufficiently bored w/ single player
just a heads up TB, Gristmill is a word for a flour mill, it has nothing to do with grizzle.
You can wall off using barbed wire. You can skip tier 1 and immediately get Falcons if you rush it early (after first pig you immediately get falcon; It's a cheese strat). Every strat in starcraft can be done in this game if you learn all the units.
Wait, TB allowed comments on TH-cam?
In his last game the badger went down to 1 hit point. That was crazy lucky.
holy shiot that that last game was great
Wish he would make more vids of Tooth and Tail
Never doubt in a badger.
Bandger nary gives a shite.
So does putting the language disclaimer allow you to not get demonetized ?
Second game you should just not have attacked at all, you should just have let him sit in his base, not allow him out and starve him to death. :p
Since when are comments allowed on a TB vid?
The ironic thing is the revolutionaries use pigs as the civilised used them
People really like Hopper.
LOVE Hopper I dont know why /shrug
Because red is the coolest color
comment section is back on? :O
Awesome. The game looks a little bit expensive for the quantity it provides, but the quality looks great.
This game reminds me of squirrel and hedgehog, North Koreas favorite anime about killing america
when i saw it i literally thought that is what it was too! (because i couldnt remember the name of that show)
I dont usually play RTS but this looks fun
Well, the dev's should thank you for at least 1 purchase.
This seems to play a lot like Warcraft 3, actually
Not sure why but this game has a Battle Realms vibe for me
You know you can put mines evrywere even in the enemy territory!
Horendous mine placement TB. Even the dudes with lowest range could kill your shit without walking over one ^^
it's sad that there aren't enough players in the multiplayer
weirds me out how ONLY the snakes are just snakes. no human equipment, nothing. just snakes.
theres a mod that gives them a lil sock on the end of their tail. but their also supposed to have little manes of animal teeth on their backs, doesnt translate to pixel art though :/
that feel when he keeps using the strongest defensive unit in the game (snakes) to attack and then wonders why they aren't good..
[strong language] ? count me in
I miss you TB
Badger Rush!
BADGER DOWN BADGER DOWN!
Those mines were MEAN
My friend had tier one spam with drill sergeant. Would of wiped me if I didn't have 2 butters. Was doin 3 ffa
Don't trust the swine. That Carnivore was totally stream sniping.
ohhhh, ok, I see its got kind of a brutal legend vibe, minus the metal and more fur
With the Grismill. Gris is literally "Pig" in Danish ^^
Gristle is a part of meat, the worst part actually.
That does make me think they eat te pigs that work on the farms...
Kind of weird.
Jasper Zanovich Maybe after the Pigs get too old to work on the farms they are turned into food?
The story of the game is that everybody decided being carnivore is the real deal and only pigs eat "food of the beasts" (not meat) and the pigs are actually food themselves (also, nobody likes old pig meat). The animals who win also eat their enemies.
Squirrels, mice, boars and other non-carnivore units in this game are at least omnivores in real life.
Are pigeons omnivores, too? Otherwise, you're totally right, except a lot of the animals there feed on insects, which isn't very meat-based.
Fuckin love this game, campaign’s simple by executed brilliantly (even though a lot of the missions are ai bullshit)
"Total biscuit tooth and tail and strategy
& Knuckles :p
Don't be afraid to post on the main channel, not everyone follow you on both. But you have your reasons. Anyway, I liked the game.
rest in peace
I just want to see him against players like arbuz, chipfromoutterspace, or zeno_akoop, he'd get so stomped it'd be hilarious, right now he's just beating up low tier ladder scrubs. (BTW all those players i mentioned have twitch channels under same name if you really need more high level TnT content in your life)
