I've known cats of all kinds: male, female, black, white, tabby, long-haired, short-haired, chatty, quiet, etc. never found sex as a thing that dictates how cuddly or aloof a cat is. Usually, what affects it is how people have handled that cat throughout their life.
My cat Kiara has a weird way of walking around the house when she's playing with her fuzzy ball toys. She even meows while holding one in her mouth, which i find it funny.
My tuxedo female cat is very affectionate. She follows me everywhere, sleeps with me and warrants my attention constantly. I feel like she watches over me. Maybe she feels sorry for me, because she may feel like I'm just a failed cat. Either way: I love her to death. Could not ask for a better companion.
Nope. Female cats are fun and loving. 🥰 My Cassie loved my wife who was my fiancée at the time. 😍We might consider adopting another one soon once my wife return from her tour. 😊
It may be anecdotal, but it's proven out in my personal experiences over the years. My females were definitely more aloof and hands-off no matter how young I got them or worked with them.
We've had male and female cats and notice no difference in being affectionate. We had one female cat that did something weird.. she would pee in things with holes or on plastic bags. She even trained herself to pee in our toilet, because it's a big hole!
I’ve had 3 female cats as an adult. One was a tortie and was definitely spicy and not a cuddle bug. My second girlie was an orange and white tabby and was sooo sooo clingy. My current baby is a gray tabby and is quite affectionate and hangs out with me all day. If she isn’t in the same room with me I wonder what’s up. She loves to cuddle and be held. I think it’s more about coat color than gender but I’m not a cat expert.

@pamelamays4186 my beautiful boy cat all black lived till 20 and still would have pushed beyond that but the veterinarian said he was not well and staying alive for me I will never love or have another like him so so smart I miss him sooooo much I am a senior in my 60s a true lover he was my everything 💔
Just before being fixed my girl had her first heat and she would just lay down belly up ‘sobbing’ and would only calm down if we rubbed her belly continously…the poor thing 🥺
I had a spayed cat once who was diagnosed as a nyphomaniac by my vet. Even though she was fixed, she would go through symptoms of being in heat a couple of times a year. It was very....annoying 😽
Those studies about heat cycles are almost always from places with colder climates. How about cats living in tropical climates? Does the weather affect them too?
I really hate the personality stereotypes based on color, breed, or gender. I think it hurts people's ability to really find the animal they click with and really understand that animal and their individual needs. Personally, I can speak to 4 cats I've been close to throughout my life, all fixed: one male who thrived on being an outside cat even though I prefer them inside, it was just so obvious he was much happier outside even if his life was shorter. He knew his people and greeted us with head buts and scent marking, but did not like to cuddle and loved to roam. "one female who I adofted after she'd spent time abandoned on the streets. She adores being safe inside but values her space, does not like long petting and will not hesitate to bet you know when she's not in the mood. and 2 females, one of whom I still call my kitty soulmate I lost last year, who are the cluiest, snuggliest, little bed steelers who love to groom me and usually answer or come when I call.
Our cat don't get the memo she is extremely affectionate, plus very busy. She use to spray when our neighbors cat was in our backyard. We took her to the vet, and they put her on prozac to calm her down. The first two weeks, she just stared at nothing while she was on it for three years
It isn't based on Gender. It's based on if they were Spaded or not. Female Cats that can have their period are 10 times more affectionate in heat than female cats that are spaded and can't get into heat anymore. You are welcome to fact check me.

My mums cat was a ginger and she was clingy and enjoyed giving people cat therapy to the ones who she liked

With other cats in the past males were more affectionate.
