I watched Adam mix at so many clubs back then, and I was always fascinated that he very seldom had one track playing. He could have two 10 minute minimal tracks and there'd only be about 30 seconds where one of them was standing alone. It was all about creating something new, on the fly - something people will likely never hear the same way again. Carl Cox was (sorry, IS) another mixing genius like Adam. It's also cemented in my head cuz Bones must of said it a million times at the beginning of every set I've ever seen and every mix tape I've ever heard lol!?
