When i see or read S boat, i click, cant´t help it :) Great to see how this is coming along. It actually helps me to build up the momentum to finish my own Revell Schnellboot kit or even start thinking about the 1/35 scale kit i have in my stash.
Thanks for checking in Michael. I hope I am doing the kit justice, even if I am combining a few Schnellboot colour schemes to get a unique look I find interesting?
Damn Harry.....this is awesome! I have this in my stash along with the full Griffin kit, you really have incentivised me to start it. The ARP is amazing, so eye catching, so the dazzle scheme should be mind blowing....looking forward to the next episode buddy!
A great model of a beautiful ship. I am in the process of completing my own in more traditional colours. Am tempted to do another one in you colour scheme. Am using the Eduard detail set which I found somewhat fiddly but I got there in the end. The propellers on my model painted stainless steel. Love your cat. Mine is all grey bot not very interested in my modelling activities. All the best from Norway. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Arild. There are so many different colour schemes you can paint these Schnellboots. I will also have to build another kit one day just to try another style.
I had much the same trouble with Life Colour paints when I used their thinners. However, when I thinned the paint with ordinary tap water, I had no more problems. The boat is looking great. The large holes below the waterline you mentioned are most likely the raw water inlets for the engines' heat exchangers.
My problems were pre thinning, due to the blobs and snakes in my paint jars. I get up to 40 degrees Celsius in my Hobby Room in summer and down to zero in winter. Although I use air conditioning and a heater when I am in there, the plastic jars with plastic lids I fear don’t seal all that well so leak the thinners and binders from the paint due to the change in temperature. But my new method of fine straining the paint before I add to my airbrush has solved all my woes. Water can work to thin these paints, but can also result in annoying droplets forming on your painted surface, however the new batch of Lifecolor thinners perform a lot better than the previous ones. Maybe we just had a bad batch down under. Try a new bottle of thinner at 50:50 to paint ratio and you should get a very smooth result at low pressure.
When ever I get stuck I first have a short nap, then do something completely different that I enjoy, like playing the piano or banjo, cooking, buy kits online etc. Sometimes mindless duties like vacuuming and washing up calm the mind and let your sub conscious sort itself out. Then I instantly get new creative ideas!
Harry, I am really enjoying delving more and more into your channel and learning new techniques and discovering new kits, whilst enjoying the humour. As a professional naval architect (I designed Queen Mary 2), I enjoy the ship subjects and I have the 1:35 Schnellboote -but this Revell one looks cool as well. Would you consider building the Revell 1:700 Queen Mary 2 which should fit within your dimensional limitations?
Good video. Awesome job painting up the air recognition stripes on the Schnellboat. Thanks for the background story. Keep having fun.
Bill
Thanks, will do!

Great build and video Harry, looking forward to the next one!
Thanks 👍. Just need Bask to decide on the camo pattern
The Schnellboot is looking great Harry! I love the paint scheme - it really makes it pop. I am not a boat or ship modeller, but this is inspiring.
They do get under your skin... must be all that salt
Great progress
Thanks for watching

Gosh mate, I love the depth of research you do.
I can’t help it… I like boojs
Love the red and white stripes. Can't wait to see the camo done.
Thanks Floki
Looking really nice, Harry, looking forward to seeing the camo scheme!
Thanks 👍 it should be the icing on the cake for this one
Looking great so far Harry, can't wait for the next video.👍👍
Thanks new video next week
Looking really good. The red striping on the Italian ships is difficult but turned out very well. Helped a bit by the low number of bumps on the deck.
Yep. I was able to tape my stripes around the bumpy bits.
Cracking paint job mate, can't wait to see the dazzle cammo😉😁👍
Thanks Dave 👍 I’m on it now and hope to have a video out this weekend
Paint scheme looks good as is! No need to spoil it with camo ;-) :-) :-)
I am leaning that way... at least nothing too busy or distracting
Thats looking good Harry..
Thanks Bill.. I am having fun painting it

She is flat out sleeping!
Is she the boss
Obviously! I cook and clean for her... make her bed, fluff the pillows on her sofa, open and close doors for her. Basically I am her servant!
S weet. Damn fine Harry.
Cheers Bro :)
Looking good Harry 👍
Thanks Monkey 👍

Thanks Stephen… if it is about the same size as the Airfix 1:600 QE2 which I recently reviewed then that would float my boat, so to speak.
Have you bought OJ Simpsons missing glove? Looking really nice Harry. Another excellent video
Yes I have and he wants it back!
Looks like an Italian boot now
Bellissimo!
👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks for the thumbs up and giving me the clap.
