This is going to be what I'm doing tomorrow. I've been using a Husqvarna 55 for over 10 years, during the fire wood session each year, and never even checked this screen lol. The saw is telling me it's time for a tune up, I had a feeling there was something in that box I should take a look at.. and after getting a tip from my tree serviceman friend, here we are. Thank you for the thorough video!
Unmuffled it got it's 2-stroke "snap" back. Interesting. I always appreciate that you aren't one of the "that homeowner doesn't know how to take care of his stuff" kindof guy. You don't know what you don't know.
I wish I could get a few other guys to understand we offer a service. If a person goes to a lawyer, doctor or financial adviser does that make them a dumbass? Of course not. Like you said, you don't know what you don't know.
I've got a few clips that haven't been edited yet that contain mistakes on my part. I'll present them in a way that will let you guess the problem without the answer being in the thumbnail.
I can imagine that you get a few trimmers in after the owner have fired the parts cannon at it, with new carbs, gaskets, fuel lines, fuel filters, air filters and what ever else they think it can be.....I see that you checked the exhaust port 👍 Just wondering, have you ever come across a clogged CAT ? 🐱 .
Once on the cat. I had a used one to swap in. I feel bad the ones that put on all those new parts then bring it to me only to find out the cylinder is scored. Maybe its actually me I feel bad for. I don't like having to make "that phone call".
That sounded a lot like an out of adjustment carburetor or a plugged carburetor in need of some cleaning, not sure I'd be able to distinguish between both. A plugged carb is frequent because people forget to use up all fuel till the engine stops and sometimes leave the fuel in the tank for a whole season!

@@TheGreasyShopRag Checked that spark arrestor, clean as a whistle lol. I must run the saw long enough each session to not get it too gunked up.
@@agntprometheus Yep and you're using a good oil too.

I guessed plugged spark arrestor screen right away. Because it says so in the video title!

Great tuition. My husky was like this, bogged down when trying to cut. Everyone else tells you to frig about with the HL tuning screws.....
They're trying to compensate for a problem instead of diagnosing the problem. Thanks for watching.

In my opinion a carb problem is best diagnosed by throttle response, not the sound coming from the exhaust. Thanks for watching.
Great video. Thanks always learning something.
I'm glad to be able to help. Thanks for watching.
Good video and very informative. Thanks.

There is a fire coming on exhaust, what may be the reason
Do I need a spark arrestor screen?
A spark arrestor screen can help prevent a forest fire and in many places is required. The saw doesn't need it to run properly.
