My favorite cozy murder mystery series is the Her Royal Spyness series. The series is set in 1930s London and follows the narrator, Lady Victoria Georgiana "Georgie" Charlotte Eugenie, cousin of King George V of England, is penniless and trying to survive on her own as an ordinary person. Its a super cozy warm hug of a series and there is a dash of romance in each book as well in the form of a mysterious Irish man

That seems like a good one to brew up a pot of tea and just snuggle in for the night!

I felt like it was a weird ride too lol. I did the audiobook and was really anticipating it being some large neighborhood conspiracy. Kind of liked it not being that, but also had me thinking about how I felt about the ending too. @-@ I did like that the main character devolved into just unlikable for once. It's not a trope always explored I think for marketing purposes.

I would love to see this trope in more horror movies too. Especially slashers and thrillers!

This isn't specifically for the book club but if you're looking for future book recommendations in general, of you haven't already read it, i'd recommend family business by Jonathan Sims, it's about a woman who, after her friend takes her own life, starts a job at a family owned cleaning company that specializes in cleaning up people's homes after they've died, and as she starts learning the job and gets to know her coworkers, she starts to realize that there's something more to what they're doing, other than just cleaning up after the dead.

I've been meaning to get into reading again, so I joined your book club in January and I'm so glad I did! This book really had a hold on me and I would read more chapters than I would plan each day since I could not put it down. The ending for this book made me upset but like I think it was a very fitting ending, given the narrator's patterns throughout the story, so I wouldn't want to change it to something different. Really looking forward to February's book of the month pick! 🖤🖤🖤

Thank you for joining in and reading again! It's one of my favorite things to add in every single day.
Fully agree that the ending was perfect if not enjoyable 😅 I would totally read more by this author soon

SPOILERS: HERE IS THE THING THOUGH! The Carbon Monoxide they couldn;t find a source for it, and int he epilogue witht he new family.... it';s clear to me that the house has sentience!!

I did not like Sarah and I liked that. I don’t think I’ve read a book like this before where the main character is not relatable at all and just an awful person. The ending took me by surprise and i thoroughly enjoyed it. So glad I was able to read it and finish. My first book club read!

Thanks for joining in! Totally agree it was an interesting take on a main character and a bit of a risk to make her so unlikeable. But it totally paid off!

I think the house is actually haunted, but it's one of those that can be explained away by "x problem," so I can keep getting away with it. And I'm loosely basing it off of the epilogue interesting the new family.

Ok I love this take! There are a few things that still made me think there was a spooky element of some sort with the house.
