This episode about the 'Demon Fish' seems to be a fan favorite. Which River Monster would you rank as the second-best catch by Jeremy Wade?
The Thai stingray or the oarfish, two awesome examples of his skill as an angler. Concur with the rest of the fans though, this episode is beautiful, the fish, the people, the camerawork
I will throw hand for the sake of the goonch
Goonch is still the most iconic. Tigerfish and thai stingray are 2nd. Insane animals that were pretty unknown before river monsters.
For me it has to be the Chornobyl episode
I love the Oarfish episode
The Most Iconic Episode of River Monsters
Agreed. This fish is THE face of River Monsters!
This was the final boss for him to face and he succeeded.
Makes sense why but for me it was the snakehead
nah mate. I think you forget THE GOONCH! xD
@@AimbotAU i agree, that was the most iconic one!
5:44 that small nod of approval from a subsistence fisherman means absolutely everything to a sport fisherman.
Knot appreciation
Half of the fascinating interest I have in this show, is how well Jeremy and his crew work with the local people and respect their culture. These folk living so close to harsh Mother Nature deserve respect, not being talked down to by those who think they know better.
I guess I missed that part.
the fact he even considered not giving the fish to Fred and the village speaks volumes to the "respect" he feels for them
@@Zombiekachu oh, please
That's simply not in his best interest if he would do that isn't it , and with the help of a shaman that did the thing and Mother nature did the rest
Having been there before years earlier and nearly died from disease and starvation I'm amazed at his attitude towards the villagers, he learnt long ago that there's no Tesco to pop over to and the people are grateful for any food that comes easy, you've a very short memory wade, remember being trapped in the jungle on top of the overloaded p 100 whose axle broke while you could barely stand in exactly the same area, would you have released it then?-hypocrite, and I'm alright jack, small wonder boote distanced himself from you
This episode was what got me into River Monsters. Seeing the Nope Fish meme back then made me curious about what the fish actually is and got me *extremely hooked* to the series.
"This is a Nopefish. It can be found in the waters of the I'll Never Go There River, in Screwthatistan" 😂
@@rivermonsters I cannot get enough of that meme🤣. It is as classic of a River Monsters meme as Demon Fish is a classic of a River Monsters episodes.
extremely HOOKED 😅
easily my favourite episode and it had a nice ending with Jeremy bringing the fish back for the villagers who share their home with it
This is one of the best episode in entire program
I find this episodes ending to be the best one in the show cause how happy the people are when jeremy gives them the fish.
23:21 Jeremy talking about the damage it could do while dangling his feet in the water. absolute GigaChad
that's kinda hazardous. He is observant I believe
can i just say a big thanks for reposting these videos loveed it growing up as a child jeremy had a great team around him and of course the most legendary fisherman out there. in my opinion. anyways thanks again :)
This is the episode I remember most from my childhood! The way the team worked with the local people was awesome. And such a cool fish 🐟
The engine block rod holder @5:26 is a thing of beauty!
Sir you’ve done a wonderful job and returning that fish to the village was the best help you could’ve offered them and now you’re the new Batman of their Gotham city! Respect to you bro!💪🏻🙌🏻🫡
Jeremy more happy if the fish is release, but after he seen the village reaction,it make him happy back, and make me happy also..miss you Jeremy and river monster..
Thanks you(River Monsters)
For upload those episodes❤❤
This one was always my favorite episode by far, and a very fitting end seeing how happy a single fish made an entire village.
This episode is what made River monsters known to this day! Absolute beauty, thanks for posting.
Thank you for the full episodes!!
I can say that this episode is on the top 3 episodes from entire series. Jeremy is the legend
Absolute BANGER of an episode. I know that Jeremy has a very big heart for all animals but to this day I still don't truly believe that the fish died because of the struggle. I believe the village wanted the fish so bad that Jeremy and his producer decided to let the fish die and give it to the people. If this is the case - and I of course don't know that it is - I guess it ain't so bad because it made a lot of people very happy and provided them with a tasty, healthy meal. On the other hand I feel bad for the fish even though I know that goliath tigerfish aren't endangered. It was just so big, such a survivor that I think it should have ended it's life in the river where it roamed.
But yk feeling bad for the fish is good. Any animal tbh. That's why, especially after death, you still have to treat the animal with respect. It gave its life involuntarily so you can eat. And that I think is an important part in any meat or fish eating human. I also think those who don't respect the animals after death and those who couldn't even watch the butchering (after the kill and after removing all organs) shouldn't be allowed to eat them. My grandparents are hunters, so i learned that mindset from a young age. I've been with them, saw them gut Deer, and butcher them. Sure, it can be a bit disgusting, but it's the needed process to get to the final product, that being food.
You are absolutely right. The way jeremy was looking around when he was talking about letting the fish go if it survived told me that if he did let it go, he would probably not be leaving the congo 😂😂
Most memorable episode ever❤😊.
Fish on!
Ahh yes one of the most famous river monsters episode
When you look images for goliath tigerfish, some of the first few pictures are from this episode with Jeremy holding it, showing that not only is this perhaps the most iconic river monsters episode (alongside the goonch episoode), also that the goliath tigerfish is indeed rare and little is known about them.
Just look at the power of millions of litres of water rushing through every second 🌊 .....
Fascinating!!!
he got scammed by that "fortune teller" lol. when he adds the substances and shouts and shouts "ahhh!". the guy in the back hid his face with laughter.
Woke up to river monsters playing. Saw a new post, and now its bedtime again
Someone needs to place the Ewok village celebration tune over the end of this episode 😂😂😂
The ICONIC of every monster fish in the word.
This is my childhood. My Da and I loved watching this together. Good times.
Jeremy Wade , the best fisherman in the world !
It don't matter how many times i see this episode, it always feels like that fish was 2 types of gifts. 1, for Jeremy to feel and bring in to actully see and 2, for the people.
Thanks for uploading this episode ❤
THE best episode!! Jeremy, you are a legend🙏 love all your work
This episode, the bullshark one and the giant stingray one are my top three in that order
BRILLIANT. Love Love Love 👍👍🙏💯💯💯🙏👍👍 Giving the fish to the people was right. 💛💛🙏💛💛
At 46:44 time, I saw few kids those looks like jr Killian MBAPPE 😂😂
Was waiting for this episode ❤
Still the best episode... Awesome stuff 😎
i love this full episodes!!!
Jeremy's fishing prowess is rivaled only by his exaggeration skills lol
29:36 You couldn't make this up. Excellent timing.
I love your show very much because of you I want to be fish biologic Frome Iraq all the love
Will always be a legendary episode
Even if it wasn't the anticipated outcome for Jeremy, I think for the majority this was the better outcome, the fish won't go to waste and it shows respect to the local traditions. Yeah sure, the fish died which is sad, but the way the people celebrated is also a way to show respect to this magnificent fish. The most important part really is not to let it go to waste or hunt it down for trophies or out of hate.
Ele e muito bom é tem uma coragem incrível tenho grande admiração por ele
salut, je commence à regarder tes vidéos, franchement j'adore, comme je vois tu respectes le poisson, c'est beau, continue 😊
Still brings goosebumps such a great adventure!
Love the videos. Can we have subtitles available please?
it is lovely to see how legend catches a legend fish
You're the most interesting fisherman EVER!! Love it Jeremy!!
This episode was my fav ❤
Very nice episode
Todas sus Capturas son épicas e interesantes.
Legendary episode 🔥🔥
Awesome ending 😃🤘
Many years ago I saw a photo in CD shop some kind of man hold a large toothed bizarre fish however at that time
I don't know who this person?
I don't know what is the creature?🤔🤔🤨
However today I know he is Jeremy Wade
I know it is goliath tigerfish
I know this is River Monsters❤❤
What a fantastic video but very horrific to villagers that were eaten by the Goliath Tiger. I take my hat off to you for fishing these monsters.
Definitely my favorite river monster.
I love the engine block rod stand on the rocks.
It's mental how many times Jeremy gets right to the end of his trip & u suddenly gets a fish last minit 🎣👍🏾
Haters will say it's edited 😁
Jerymy feel so sad when the fish died, this shows that how much he love and want to experience more of nature
Meu Deus que Águas bravias realmente tem que ter muita coragem
that bloke jumping in water at around 8 mins is absolutely nuts, that water just 10m or so from where he is looks extremely turbulent. If he ventured just a little too far he would be swept away. Obviously knows what hes doing as he looks like he might have been doing it for years but hats off to the bravery.
Wednesday night monster hunting continues with the most monsteous river monster ever!
5:49 guy approved ❤
Loving these full episodes being uploaded!
The main catch goliath tigerfish is more than worth all the effort put into the ones that got away! There's good reason for it to be as iconic as it is.
If anyone gifted me a goliath tigerfish that did not survive being caught, I think I'd damn well enjoy it! According to the Internet tigerfish tastes similar to bream, which is my favorite eating fish, so.....😋
Africa is one beautiful country
Continent
MAIOR PESCADOR DE TODOS OS TEMPOS
I never really thought about it before, but the goliath tigerfish looks almost like a smaller, freshwater version of Xiphactinus. Very similar bodyplan, and equally terrifying dentition - I'm curious as to whether the two are in any way related, though I wouldnt be surprised if it was just yet another case of cool convergent evolution
Having been nearly drowned by some serious rapids during the rainy season of Zimbabwe, seeing that man jump into the rivers rapids is insane and i flinched when he did😅 8:28 8:44 8:44
A fish that perfectly matches the river it lives in
TIGERFISH LET'S GOOOO
আমি ইংরেজি বুঝি না, তবে এটা সত্য আপনি দেশ বিদেশে ঘুরে অজানা তথ্য তুলে ধরেন এটা সত্য ❤
the spirits only speak in cash lol
It's been so long since I've seen this episode.
The end is ok i mean, if the fish is eat so well done!
4 mins ago 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Watching it now
I would've loved to have seen how the village cooked up that fish.
When he says that there is a monster lurking around, that’s just soo the fish know that master fisher is around.
fantastic
India❤
Making him legend after seeing full vedio.....
Iconic
Loving this new episodes weekly. My favorite show. ❤
Why is he so cute fr?
Good thing you did not release it. You have to respect the locals. Look how happy you made them.
Bit harsh on the live bait fish there. Do fish feel that i wonder?...sort of one of the reasons i dont do it anymore, i always de barbed my hooks but still looks sore.
Get the chips on , tartare sauce Sir ?
U choose the right decision! For all the people there!
A worthy rival to Jeremy Wade
Jeremy se vió obligado a darles el Pez a la gente para comerselo.
Hizo una buena obra con esta gente.
That's the craziest river ever
Cool
correct decision
17:11 Just look at that habitat and imagine people having the Goliath as a pet these days
What is the music from the end?
I believe Fred chinned or strangled that fish when Jeremy wasn't looking. Jeremy said it looked like it had hit some rocks on the way in & i do believe that it did hit a rock, but it was probably already on the bank & the rock was in Freds hand 👊🏾👊🏾😁
Never going swimming 😭
