  • In this VPS tutorial, I'll show you how to set up your VPS to host unlimited projects for cheap.
    ✅ A2Hosting $2.99 ➜ emit.reviews/go/a2hosting-vps...
    For this VPS tutorial, I use unmanaged VPS from A2 Hosting, but you can follow along with any provider you choose.
    The benefit of using a VPS is the fact that you pay WAY less and you get dedicated resources, most web hosting providers charge anywhere from $15 to $30 a month for the same quality of performance, yet here you get to have it all for just $4.99.

    Great video! I will need to use this for a new website I will need to host soon. The A2 plans are super fast, I already am using a Managed WP plan from them for an eCommerce site and it screams. Thanks again and keep the content coming!

      Yeah I have the managed plan as well. I was quite surprised to see the plans be this good. Because the prices arent crazy. Happy you're creating more sites and like the content!

    i followed this tutorial, bought the a2 hosting etc, did everything like the video, websites looks fine but ran into some very complicated email and SSL problems that i couldn't solve, i saw the other video about Spanel, i wanted to buy it but they don't support a2... can you suggest a paid panel that can work for me for A2 vps, cheap and good ?

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The only paid options Ive ever used were cPanel and sPanel. So, I cant give you much help here.
      But for SSL and emails. Have you tried Cloudflare paired with Gsuite? The cheapest gsuite email plan is only around 5euros a month and cloudflare is free.
      Just pair your domain with Cloudflare. That will take care of the SSL and then through Cloudflare change your MX records to the ones gsuite will give you.
      This way youll have a way better than default email service available and SSL shouldnt be a problem

    how do you import a wordpress site that previously had a different URL? It has a lot of pages, it's only 3gb, is this possible?

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah its possible, I have a guide on how to transfer your website for free(sorry on mobile so cant link fast, just type website transfer emit reviews).
      You'll need to edit the database to account for the new name. But its as easy as ctrl f. Find old name. Replace all

    • @Stiflex
      @Stiflex 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Emit.Reviews just saw it. So basically a plugin just auto-replaces everything? The url is the most important thing, because it is tied to the search results.

    • @Stiflex
      @Stiflex 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Emit.Reviews Also, do you know what kind of hardware a VPS should have to handle 1 million monthly users? The load is not heavy, no massive databases, just a simple embedded video site (bandwidth goes to video providers like youtube etc)

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It varies from provider to provider since not all of them use the same type of hardware. For example A2Hosting might use AMD processors from 2020 while Bluehost has Intel XEON CPUs from 2008.
      But both would only advertise as "2CPU Core / 4GB RAM" plans. So, since only the providers know the gear they use. I'd recommend contacting their sales support with the same question @@Stiflex

      @@Emit.Reviews I tried and the dude recommended me a r9 3950x dedicated server for 200$ a month for my wordpress website with youtube embed posts that at the moment kinda lags but isn't too slow and works fine on hostingers 1core 1gb ram shared hosting server.

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, in this case the server runs on someone elses computer (in the cloud). So it can stay online 24/7 even if u turn off your computer

    I’m confused VPS as website or as VPN can you have both?

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can have both. A VPS is just like a virtual computer. You can install a different kind of software there, as long as you have the space and the resources to run it. In this case, I just installed CyberPanel Software instead of OpenVPN software. But you can have both,

      Thank you for the reply! I recently learned of the VPN option and wondered about doing website too. Very cool! Now to figure out what else I can do and how to do it.

      Is a2 vps as good as viltr vps?

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Vultr definitely offers more in terms of easy to access features. Its overall a more sophisticated platform. If you want to develop more than just websites they're better Id say. But for websites only, A2 is better price, performance is quite similar.

      @@Emit.Reviews You have the best video on TH-cam about how to get unmanaged VPS up and running. Don't worry about the commands I already wrote them in a textfile and I think when you opened a port 8090 we should use iptables-persistent not just iptables, to make sure that the port persist open after reboot

    It's considered very bad practice to allow root logins over SSH. If used in a production environment this should be disabled and SSH keys should be used rather than passwords.

    • @Emit.Reviews
      @Emit.Reviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's 100% correct. For those that are looking to do this with the extra security, you don't need anything extra, PuTTY works for generation. Follow www.a2hosting.com/kb/getting-started-guide/accessing-your-account/using-ssh-keys this tutorial to generate and login using your SSH keys.
      I did it with the passwords in the video to keep it simple for those setting up their first VPS.
