Australian 13 Year Old “James” Plays Drums With The Killers On “For Reasons Unknown” | Geelong, 2022

- 13 Year Old James had the opportunity of a lifetime on December 10th 2022 at Day On the Green (Mt Duneed, Geelong).
James Held up a sign created by his sister asking to play drums to “For Reason Unknown” with The Killers on stage, luckily the young fan was brought up on stage and was able to meet Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci Jr.

This is the outlet for this kid to become a rockstar like the Killers themselves. They just gave him a glimpse into what his future will hold by working hard at his craft and an opportunity to get his foot in the door of playing infront of 20,000 people. 13 years old?!?! Insane! I couldn’t do it I’d get such bad stage fright!

Word! I'm fairly decent in several instruments and even did a bit of chorus, but performing on stage was always a challenge for me. Did just fine in band, but I actually tried out for a solo in chorus I totally didn't think I'd get and did end up getting and choked horribly in front of the entire school and all their parents. This kid absolutely wrecked it! I don't even know the kid and I feel proud for him. What an honor to experience that even just once.

At 13 he seams to be a well seasoned drummer. Would love to have seen him play another song with the band. Awesome playing, great presence and didn't miss a beat.

Incredible and for me seeing the kid grow in confidence during the performance while killing it is wonderful to watch. Imagine at 13 in front of 20k people is just insane. His poise and control while focused on Flowers ensuring right timing is impressive. Can only imagine his nerves, but he stayed unnerved.
Was a year behind Flowers in HS in Vegas. The Killers have always displayed professionalism along with great music.

The drummer did an excellent job - and had fewer problems than Brandon Flowers did with his guitar. I think that is the first time I have seen an audience drummer outplay the lead singer (of course he had a technical problem with his guitar).
Been watching these over the last couple of years when I discovered them and I have to admit this is the most paced and steady beat approach i have seen thus far, not too rushed and not too slow. Fills were nice and well placed! Well done james!

That was totally awesome. James didn't seem nervous at all. Hell of a drummer for only 13 (I was married to a drummer for many years, so I know a good one when I see one!)
