    Love it. I just set it up in my chest freezer and it's already so much better than my marineland pump. Thank you for making it! 🙏

    I’ve been following this project for a few months now. I have collected some materials such as the GE filter and filter housing, as well as the danner pump.
    If you could provide a link to the correct fittings you used to attach the filter housing to the pump. And the connector between the Venturi adapter and the filter housing.
    Thanks a lot

    Such a sick setup man. I cant wait to get mine. Im currently running 2 marineland filters with your 3D printed accessories. I think this will be a game changer tho! Question - Do you recommend purchasing a second replacement filter for quicker filter changes, since you sanitize the one that was being used and it takes some time before its ready? If so, where do you recommend we buy them? Also do you recommend the 5 micron or 30micron more?

      I definitely should have included a link to the filters. I think these work really well. They can be sanitized,but not scrubbed with a brush.

    This whole set up can use outside of a tub also correct going into a chiller. You would just hook the hoses to the pump connected to the filter just the way that you did the hose to the chiller and then a chiller to the tub.?

    Ignorant question.. But what's the best way to pull the prefilter off without having the debris fall back into the water since the suction is gone?

    • @APEX.86
      @APEX.86  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! I have great luck by carefully pulling straight up on it, and not too slowly. This drives some flow through the pre-filter and pins the debris to it.

    Your pump is meant to pump 5x the volume of water. do you have bigger pumps

    • @APEX.86
      @APEX.86  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pump flow is much more complex than that. I assume you mean the GPH rating should be 5x the water volume. A pump's nominal flow rating (if it is even accurate at all) is based on having zero restriction. Actual flow reduces rapidly as you add plumbing, filters, etc.
      Many people use 1200 GPH pumps in externally plumbed, chiller based plunges, with much larger tanks than most freezers. Compared to a system like that, mine will flow more than double, probably closer to 4x.

    • @APEX.86
      @APEX.86  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But, if you are dead set on a larger pump, you can buy all my custom parts and source a Danner 1600.

      I already have it marked down quite a bit. If you go around and add up all the prices, I think you'll find this is a significant savings, and much less hassle.
      The pump alone is $135. So for $100 more, you are getting a filter element and housing, union, adapters, high-flow venturi, pump base, and pre-filter.

    is there a reason you don't pull the water through the filter first instead of needing a pre filter? it seems weird to filter before the pump then after the pump.

    • @APEX.86
      @APEX.86  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@extremelyboardjmp pumps are designed to push against a restriction, not pull through one. The pump efficiency suffers a lot with a restriction on the inlet. It can also cause cavitation in the pump which can damage it.

    The pump seems overkill for more 😅

    • @APEX.86
      @APEX.86  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vtteq you need a powerful pump to filter at 5 microns and still have enough flow for a strong venturi injection. The beauty of a big pump is, it has enough circulation to kick all the small particles up and filter them out, and then you can choose how long to run it each day. With a small pump, you can run it 24/7 and still have lots of particulate in your water.
      Even in a 93* garage, with the pump running 16 hours per day, my entire system (freezer, pump, ozone) costs about $10 / month to run.
