How do you know what the price is that the stock will pull back to and take off again? I know you use whole numbers alot but I also hear, if price pulls back to .85 I'll go long again. Please explain more about puilbacks. Thanks

    i dont know if you answer questions but... Is there such a thing as setting a price at which a trailing stop get activated/ triggered . For example: set a 30% trailing stop activation once XYZ ( currently at $40 ) surpasses $55 a share. I am on standard TD Ameritrade website and cant figure it out.

    When i make a buy order with a stop loss set
    Once the order becomes Active, do i own the stock or is the stock held in escrow until the lower limit is hit, and the order has been filled?? If i buy the stock, i want to protect myself against the immediate drop, but if the stock goes up can i cancel the limit order and own the stock ??? Once the order becomes active, can i cancel the order, hang on to the stock and set a sell limit to protect my investment????

    Overall I’m up about 13-15%. However my fear that the market in general can tank hard while I’m not watching is a high concern. So... I’ve set up a percentage based trailing stop of 4% on all my stocks. I understand the high/low spread is different on every stock but can this 4% trail protect my profit from a major market disaster without an unwanted exit or should I increase the percentage? Thanks, great job.

    Very good video on trailing stop. But i have a question here... with the trailing stop, does the entry and exit are a limit or market order?? Meaning that i am garanteed to get in AND GET OUT of the position when it hit the trigger price?? And does all the platform work the same as trailing stop process?? Thank you very much for the reponse??

    CAN I USE TRAILING WHEN TRADING OPTIONS?

    • @MoreTraderTVLive

      Trailing stops are not typically used in option trading, this is due to the variability in the spread as well as poor liquidity.

    Don't know if you realize this but you indulge in a lot of trade talk. Buy backs are what companies do when they want to boost the stock price. Not sure how buy backs work with trailing stops. Breaks are what employees take. Uninformed people like me would like to know how say a 1% trailing stop functions when a stock price makes big sudden leaps in excess of 1%.

  • @danielrioux54
    @danielrioux54 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Trailing stop is an essential tool for serious traders. It is also a key technics for risk management.
    How you establish your trailing stop is a petty. It is arbitrary or completely erroneous. For example, ATR, you just not take the value by itself. Used a proven technique like the Chandeler developed Charles Lebeau. For a long position, you multiply the ATR by a factor between 1.5 and 3, then subtract this value from the highest high over the last 22 bars.
    The comment from the black commentator to his believe that the ATR was too volatile means that the ATR setup is inappropriate. Wilder, the creator of the ATR, is using 14 bars and Lebeau uses 22 bars. In both cases the ATR moves smoothly and never jumping up and down.
    Finally, you provide no real and tangible results on both approaches.
    It is sad that you are communicating such bad information to your listeners.
