Makes sense, not something that you normally think of. Food for thought. I'm just replacing the radiator and intercooler on a high mileage van where the vanes have been hammered with road dirt and every other item that has managed to close the cooling fins.I reckon that I will have a huge improvement in not only cooling efficiency but also a power boost as I will be getting a cooler air charge into the engine.

I think I’ve looked at all your videos now, and I think they are excellent. Simple enough for the layman. I have a Magnahelic and will be using it as you suggest on my classic car as I think there are a number of improvements that could/should be made. Its strange that I cant find a paper copy of your book to buy anywhere on line only the kindle version. I’ll keep looking. Brilliant stuff though. Thank you.

Supply problems from the publisher. Not sure when they'll be fixed.

Interesting video (Actually, all your vids are informative). Even if I'm not a fan of it, would hood spacers (raising the rear hood) could help evacuate flow and/or removed hot temps?

No, not typically as the base of the windshield is a high pressure area.

Hello, I found your channel last night and I'm really interested in improved air flow and cool intake charge for my skoda fabia tdi. I did run my own diy water meth system using the washer bottle and activated by boost switch (sh2omi project if you wish to search online for more information). Anyhoo, your videos have given me a really insight into intercooler spraying for max efficiency and max flow of air through it to.
If I could possibly ask you a question please? What are your thoughts on using a cryo (co2) set up for cooling the intercooler instead of water?
Going back to the water spraying method, would adding methanol to the water increase the evaporative effect on the surface of the intercooler?
Sorry for rambling on Mr Edgar :)
    Many thanks :)

I think a CO2 set-up would be fine, but it gives only a short duration of cooling, doesn't it? Adding any alcohol (including methanol) will improve cooling but there are two reasons I've not done it: (1) a water/alcohol mix with a reasonable percentage of alcohol is inflammable, and so needs to be treated like fuel (eg in the car storage container, pump and hoses), and (2) spraying alcohol onto the front of the car isn't good for paint, rubber, etc.

Julian Edgar hello Julian, many thanks for your reply. It's very much appreciated :)
I've looked into it more since I messaged you. I've ditched the co2 option and will be following your advice on water misting. Thanks again. Robert
