well using the term "degrees", limits you to either the celcius or the fahrenheit scale [the absolute, Kelvin, scale does not use the term "degree"] -- and the 2000 figure is wrong for both -- it's 1700 degree in celcius and ~3000 degree in the fahrenheit scale.
