Did you install Tomb Editor properly? Maybe try re-install. Installing the complete package puts something called BaseWad in your installation directory and you need to load that in. If it's not happening manually, you need to go items in menu bar and press ADD WAD and navigate to the Tomb Editor installation location and open the assets folder and load in BaseWad. :)
Thanks for this, I'm only just getting back into this after over a decade so a lot has changed. I used to always use the turbo Pascal editor so that'll date me quite a bit! Looking forward to watching the future videos
I am so glad to find tutorial videos that explain how this works. the others i found are all in writing and being autistic, i found them hard to understand. but with your videos, i understood how the Tomb Editor works a whole lot better because you actually explained it all instead of using writing :) thank you so much. Now i can begin making my first TR level
@@LeesPlay I just ran into my first issue 😅 I made a new level but skipped saving the new LUA code. So the level wouldn't launch 🤦🏻♂️ Such a tiny step missed and all progress ground to a hault lol. right...now I have the LUA issue sorted... onto lesson 1 😅
@@DarioDarrow Follow the tutorial exactly!!!! I'm going to pin this to set an example! :P Glad you got it working. If you mess up, delete the project and restart. :)
It's crazy to say that Tomb Raider an entire franchise will be turning 30 years old in just a few more years, thanks for this awesome step-by-step guide. Can't wait to make an awesome Tomb Raider level that even the devs themselves would had never thought of when they made the original levels for the game. Speaking of original levels, is it possible to edit any of the original levels that were shipped with the game regardless of any of the Tomb Raider games 1-5? If not, thanks for your help. I am new to this program.
@@LeesPlay Oh ok, probably with the original Tomb Raider Level Editor, TRLE or the TRNG (Tomb Raider Next Generation editor) that probably has compatibility to modify the original levels of the game.
Althought I'm a prog in the video game industry, I am more interested in doing 3 models (props). Is it possible do custom models for tomb raider with a software like Blender?
Yes, in the TombIDE package contains WadTool where you can change Lara's outfit and other 3d models. It's also the tool that allows you to import enemies and gameplay from other Tomb Raider classic games into the TEN engine, meaning you can pretty much use any baddy from the classic 5 games allowing for a huge variety. Baddies and classic gameplay from other objects can be downloaded from the TEN website as they needed coding adjustments. Modelling 3D Objects like Props and Furniture is much easier and can be imported directly into Tomb Editor without using WadTool as an OBJ file (but won't have collision)
Hello ! I have a problem, when I try to load my level, the main menu show up but when I start a new game, he reload the main menu. Do you have any ideas ?
For whatever reason it says No Lara found whenever I put her inot th elevel

Glad you think so!
I've been a long time fan of TR and your tutorial really helped me! Thank you!!
Thank you very much for taking the time and creating this series!
I was only 9 when the original level editor came out and had no idea what I was doing getting the tools running haha. Thanks for this great update!
Haha I was like 4. I was 8 when the house got my first Computer and I would have bought TRLE with Chronicles.

You can't with these tools but I believe others may exist to specifically modify shipped levels.

Afraid not.
