Cool! "Measure by measure, drop by drop \ And pound for pound, we're taking stock \ Of all the treasure still unlocked \ The love you found must never stop" -- Big sound, still driven by guitar, bass and drums.
Great band. I love it when Brad's recommendations sends him through music I haven't heard in decades. This takes me back to high school. I had their first couple of albums. A popular radio station I listened back in the day (91X) played this kind of music also.
I'd recommend listening to the album version. The opening string and synth licks of the song really stood out on the album version in a way that sounded more muddled on this Top of the Pops version. The album version started with what sounded like a genuine cello, but then intermixed synthesizers into it in a way that almost sounds seamless. I'd never heard anybody mix real string instruments with synths like that before.
Def one of their better tracks. Always a sonically interesting and creative band. Can damn sure write a hook as well🔥
Love this band since 82
It's too bad this was mimed and not live. They were absolutely insane live back in the day. Thanks for revisiting them.
Back of love another hit and killing moon, zimbo tribute to jim morrison of the doors, and fuel longer track excellent tunes.
Where's Lex?
This is Brad's channel.
You realize you placed your head on the drummer, who died many years ago in a motorcycle accident….Pete DeFreitas.
I saw this band perform back in the ‘80s. They were good but every song sounded just like the album version
The instrument you hearing is a marimba
