I watched Spongebob in Dutch so I was very confused by their answers, because it made me wonder if the makers didn’t just translate the name but actually changed his name for the Dutch dub. I was actually relieved they were all wrong.

Strangely, Pearl the Whale is the name of two distinct movies that came out in 2022: Pearl and The Whale.
SpongeBob actually WAS semi-inspired by a song: “Ocean Man” by Ween. The song plays during the end credits of the first movie since it was originally meant to be the ending for the series, and Hillenberg got Ween to write the “Loop-De-Loop” song for an early episode as well.

This was such an amazing video, so glad they got to do this Stan vs Normies edition of Spongebob. I think Noah did a fantastic job as being the host and seeing him in that Squidward costume was so great.
Cool story; The last name of Mel Blanc is pronounced like the word blank, and in fact, Blank was the original spelling of his name. He reportedly changed the spelling after a teacher told him he'd never amount to anything, and be like his name, a blank.
