I have been thinking about the scene when the nine tails appearing. I noticed they are a fox clan without a tail and they are called the tailless. I now assume the tailless are born with hidden potential and the nine tails represent unleashing her full potential. Nine tails usually represent the strongest fox demon.
That last scene remind me of final episode of Fate/Zero, when Shiro tell Kiritsugu he want to be a Hero of Justice, Kiritsugu know well how hard that path is, so he just bitterly smile and then pass away He think Shiro will forget that dream when he grown up, but actually that was make him suffer (like his foster father)
This animation was so good. just sad that they drowned out the voice acting near the end with the music. Molly spoke about it on her stream when she reacted that the mom had a lot more soul wrenching gasp after she pierce herself with the blade and miyabi had a louder scream/crying but it seemed they toned it way down and made the music louder than them. also she didn't also try to avoid training her with the sword but all the "training" she had for her was trying to force her to have a regular life. i.e. Eat well, get full 8 hours of sleep or it doesn't count as training, learning all the names of her family.

You knew this was going to go bad when you saw how desperate Miyabi's parents were to keep the sword out of her hands... but at the end her mother had no choice but to have her own daughter kill her with the Demon Sword. The perfect amount of despair; I'd expect nothing less from Hoyoverse.
Tbf, ZZZ itself had very deceptive tone. Like from chapter 1, most if not all you see are basically the norms in New Eridu. Hell, we got a colorful cast of characters with funny quirks. Because of this, we forgot that New Eridu is literally humanity last bastion and the world outside of the city is pretty much gone. We are playing in a post apocalyptic society. And we the MC are either reason or closely related to reason why the world went to shit. Like pretty much everyone, from the Cunning Hare to Section 6 has a reason to murk us on site if they knew about our past.
I just wanted you to have a normal life away from that katana but fate turned to her, surely she knew the mother knew the cruel fate that happened to her mother.
