I didn't think I would like going back to a 6X4, but traction is much better, and so is the tire life. My fuel mileage is better with the 6x4 also, but that is probably just the newer engine technology. The ultimate would be a 6x2 with a lift front axle. I've yet to find a Freightliner on the used market that is yet up that way.
@@jptransport8830 I do not think you could get a lift front axle. The drive shaft can not can not get past the dead lift axle. OR did you mean a lift on the steer axle? LOL Where you are thinking of new topics, How about calculating how bad the bills could have been with a tow truck and repair for the things you did by yourself at home. Like starter done in tumbleweed Kansas at truck stop vs. Jonny's driveway. Oil change at home vs on the road. You are doing things right!
Where is home for you? Just found your channel. I am a tuner for Pittsburgh if you want to make that change and we can work out the logistics.
I'm in southern Indiana.
@ cool. Southern Ohio for me
What is you opinion on going from 6 x 4 and to a Nussbaum 6 x 2 and back to a 6 x 4? you will no longer eat up the front drives?
