I have a theory of what turned Amai into the monster she wasn't meant to be. Somehow a voice made it into her head which stuck around and over time drove her mad crazy because it wouldn't stop talking. It kept saying things that made Amai increasingly more frustrated and she got angrier and angrier until she lost control and killed everyone. Again, she wasn't meant to be a monster but something caused her to become one. What do y'all think?
I believe yan dev used a similar illustration for Amai when explaining the possibility of driving rivals to kill. Just really cool stuff. Amai would definitely be fragile if she wasn't a rival.

Fun fact : Since amai is leader of the cooking club, and is known to not hurt a fly, no one would expect her when she’s holding a knife to hurt anyone
so you say if someone is nice enough they can hold a knife without making anyone suspicious
