Kyrie, Gloria- Missa Luba

The Kyrie and Gloria from Missa Luba.
Each of the mass parts display melodies from Congolese songs, and correspond typical emotions experienced within the villages when performed in Latin. In the Kyrie, a call and response format is very evident. Originally, the songs were not even written, but taught to the original performing boy choir by putting the latin words of the mass into melodies they had often used in everyday life.
