Je suis Acadien et il vit à 8 minutes (voiture) de chez moi! Il passe parfois avec sa moto xD. Il est tous les ans devant sa maison avec sa famille lors du 15 aôut. Il est aussi aimable en personne qu'en vidéo. Une vraie légende locale.
My first concert was him at Le festival acadiane in saulnierville in the early 2000’s him and his band was warming us in my uncles basement ( his fiddle players brother)the day before the concert and I got to very briefly jam with them…… Johnny Comeau his fiddle/mandolin player in this video and still to this day is my mother’s brother and has thought me more about music theory than anyone else and honestly if it’s possible for you I strongly suggest that you make the trip here to the east coast of Canada for one of his concerts because he is seriously an amazing showman he’s like Gordon Leightfoot and Bob Dylan had a French baby and found one of if not the best fiddle players to accompany him on stage I’ve only had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times but I am honoured to be able to say Oncle Johnny and my Grandpere Dennis A’ Alfred helped me become the musician I m today although I’m not a fiddler I am one of the luckiest men alive in the world to have been given one of Grandpere’s fiddles along with Oncle Johnny and our cousin Sebastien and I have been working on crafting my own genera or metal guitar playing in their honour like Randy Rhoads created neo classical metal I’ve started to write heavy mental guitar riffs that are influenced by the Acadian fiddle driven music I grew up with I personally don’t care about fame or money but if I’m lucky someone somewhere with the drive talent and desire will hear some of my songs that are a mix of my Oncle est Grandperes’s fiddle style mixed with Randy Rhoads Zakk Wylde’s and DimeBag Darrell Abbott’s guitar style and become to Acadian fiddle music what Yngwie Malmasteen is to classical music and as long as I get the chance to become that obscure footnote to music I will have been able to accomplish my goal which isn’t fame notoriety or fortune but to have a hand in the creation of a whole genres of metal guitar playing that can help guide people to eventually discover the music that inspired it’s creation like Dennis “Fiddlin’ Dan” Comeau, Cayouche, And Les Méchants Maquereaux …… anyways……. I hope you get the chance to see him in concert…… his live music is as good as as Ozzy Osbourne’s music is even if it’s polar opposite of each other and I can say that first hand lol I may be a little biased tho Cayouche got his name from an abbreviation of the term “Acayouche” - meaning a mixed-up Acadian and I myself was raised by an Acadian mother and a Newfie father half of my life in L’Acadie and the other half on military bases and English communities and that’s not even considering the family connection and the love/ respect I have for my Oncle Johnny and his influence on my life and his love respect and dedication to myself my family and my children
