@@ahlfar1901 I agree 100% Fantasia would good playing Tina Turner. Fantasia doesn't sing in Soprano and belt long sustained notes. She has the performance aspect. Ledsi has the voice but no stage presence.

I see all the comments. But knowing quite a bit about music history and music theory; voices like Patti LaBelle's are not being made anymore. Miss LaBelle has stated recently that she loves Fantasia and Ledisi. Either one could do a good job. All in all; Patti LaBelle was different. She had a big powerful voice and a big extraordinary stage presence in her prime years. With limited raw talent today any homage that Miss LaBelle is able to receive as far as a biopic is concerned should be respectable of her wishes and have her approval. It is impossible to duplicate the "Patti LaBelle" sound. Nobody has a voice like hers.. not in the gospel, not in opera; nobody. Patricia Louise Holte is a trailblazer. Whenever the biopic of "Patti LaBelle" starts production, I'm going to be ready to support❤
..FYI. Fantasia Monique Barrino sings with power, soul and charisma. No she's not a Dramatic Soprano like LaBelle, but she is a Mezzo Soprano. She is also said to have a semi tone that could be used to reach an extra octave if coached correctly. Worst case scenario if the notes get too high for her to sing the producers, directors can use LaBelle's recorded vocals from her released music to highlight the actual vocal essence of her voice. Other than that; when you transform Fantasia into 1960s Bluebelles drag, 1970s Space Suits Drag, 1980s New Attitude Drag; you will have a wonderful homage to Miss Patti LaBelle ❤
