Usually the ppl who went to his middle school went to Oikawa’s highschool, so it’s a given they thought Kageyama would go there too, he actually originally wanted to go to Ushijima’s school but settled for Karasuno after he wasn’t accepted in (which even Hinata was shocked about) Imagine it like this, you have yadda yadda state school and Yadda Yadda state high school, they are connected because usually children from the state school will go to the highschool, now imagine you have three friends and one of them suddenly goes to dookie dook highschool instead, it would be shocking
