Excelente amigo.❤
Muito obrigado maninho 😃💯💪💪💪
Boas dicas, muito bom mesmo! 😊
Boas proas 😃👍👍
Hello Luis, thank you for showing us a bit of your terminal tackle! I would like to know which split ring sizes (lb) you are using for different jigs / species?
@@Mco998-pf1wi Hi 😀👍Thanks, Im glad that you like it. Im going to make a small video about it but normaly i use a higher number of split ring #5 on the head and on the tail a smaller one #4. So has i start to use lighter jigs and micro i pass to #4 and #3 and so on has long has the balance between the jig, assists and the welded ring is good. When it comes to species, if i know that is a high chance of having bad hookups because of the low activicty of big fish, i change the tail split ring to the same number as of the head just to make sure that if the fish only gets the tail hook the split ring can resist. In normal situations i use diferent split ring numbers because i need more space for the welded ring of the leader and the jig to move more freely and also the head split ring have to hold all the pressure from the fish. When it come to the tail, we only have one and not two connections, so we dont need a bigger split ring. I hope this helps 😀👍
@@LuisRamosSPJ Ahh thanks! Yes that is a good point, not going for the power rating but for diameter so the hooks can move more free when the jig is fluttering around! I usually use #5 on head and tail of the jig, but I really like to downsize everything as much as I can. Maybe I should use thinner wire but same inside diameter split rings, I worry about having too heavy split rings that would destroy my jigs action.
So far I caught good with that setup, one dentex of 5-6 kg every session but sometimes it is really slow and difficult. I fish from Faro and finally found a good spot for slow jigging there. Portugal can be very tough with the current and wind.
Hi Brother, how did you work your jigs when there are strong current? I went to off shore fishing today, the current is so strong, my jigs can’t get to the bottom.
Thanks
Hello my friend 😀👍 i have no problems in controling the jig and being vertical with strong currents no matter the depth. But that depends on various factors and not only the jig. Can you tell me what is your total setup you were using and also the depth?, how much current? Jig weight and shape? And how are you mantaining the line vertical?
Hi brother, thank you for your quick response. My set up is Daiwa saltiga 15 HL ,shimano ocea 8 PE3, Zenaq ikari 63-3,sea floor control jigs: messiah 150g.cranky 230g
Abyss150g. Bkk solid rings#5-#6,split rings #6.
We are fishing in 80-90 meter deep. The captain says the current is strong, with the jigging skill,I’m good on shore jigging and lure fishing but not good on boat, I watched all your videos on you tube try to learn from you .
Thanks
Ok. Can you tell me what is the kind of terrain you have and what are the fish you are targeting?
@@LuisRamosSPJ Hi Brother, there are reef(maybe rock) and sand down the bottom. We are looking for snapper and amberjack, they are use bait I’m use jigs, they keep getting snappers but I didn’t have any touch with my jigs, I tried longjigs and shortjigs,I think maybe my jig skills are not good enough.
Thanks
Sorry but i forgot to ask you if the captain or skipper controls the boat in order for the lines to stay vertical?
