The Show usually tanks Abreu after 1 season. On my franchise he was in AAA by July 2023

the fact they have julio regressing at age 26 is insanely horrible and they need their system fixed
Maybe that he got a really bad injury that just got worse over time, or maybe the fame got to his head and he stopped training, or maybe the clubhouse chemistry just wasn't there anymore after the Suarez trade, or maybe there was a rule change that negatively affected his playing style, or maybe he tried to be Bo Jackson and split his attention between two sports, or maybe he was using PEDs for the early part of his career and got caught leading to his regression, or maybe something happened in his family life that was so devastating he just didn't have the heart to play anymore, or maybe he was possessed by Jared Kelenic...
That's just stupid how it had Julio declining at 27 like he was 37

Julio rookie year WAR = 6.2
Yordan rookie year WAR = 3.7
Yordan's career high WAR = 6.8 (2022)
This is only marginally better than Julio, and that didn't happen until last season. Yordan can barely run, and barely plays a position because the knee problems he's had basically his entire professional career.
To compare their rookie years to each other is almost laughable. I'm not taking anything away from Yordan's bat, the man can certainly hit the ball. Overall talent though? Julio is a TRUE 5 tool player (and he played like one) and will in all likelihood continue to improve for the next several years before he reaches his peak. Yordan is not a 5 tool player and is not likely to improve much beyond where he is right now outside of gaining further plate discipline. It's just that simple. Barring injury, Julio will also likely have a much longer career. Yordan's knees will not hold up past 12-15 years.
There is a lot more to player value than how many homeruns someone hits, and Julio's rookie year was far and away better than Yordan's. If you would have said Mike Trout, you'd have an argument. Otherwise....no.
