    Add me to the list of those who forgot how it was installed on the tripod. You saved me a lot of frustration. Thank you.

    I thought I was going crazy, as I knew there was a little screw somewhere (remembering tightening one at some point).. didn't remember having to raise the center column to reveal it. :D thx a lot for the quick reminder!

    I followed the directions but the old head will not come off. I took the screw off and turned clockwise but I am unable to remove the old head. Any suggestions would be so helpful.

    Hi, i I've got the same tripod (or just 190 series with the same center column) and I've noticed, that when you tighten the screw on the column, it doesn't screw into the part of the head where it should be, but instead it screws into the metal part of the head where it shouldn't be and then the head can come off even when it's tightened a lot. Any suggestions what to do? Thanks :)

      @firetogaproductions190  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought it was more of a friction screw, so it doesn't screw in a hole, it just pushes up against it. Mine did end up popping off once, but may have been due to me screwing it up the first 20 times I tried to incorrectly rip the head off before I figured out the right way.

    For some reason, the fluid drag system for the pan, does not rotate, I can't tell if it is stuck, I tried unscrewing the head, but it is still stuck.

  • @hibhaven

    Thank you, and interesting video. I tried to tighten the screw in the tripod, however it did not seem to reach deep enough to put pressure on the video head. After a bit of playing around with the video head, I realised that, if you pan the head slow enough, it will rotate 360 degrees in either direction, without the screw coming off. But the moment you start rotating it just a shade faster, the screw unfastens and the video head starts to come off. Just my observation.

    • @firetogaproductions190
      @firetogaproductions190  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, that happened to me once, where I rotated it too far with the screw. I actually was hoping I didnt wear out the screw by making this video where I added and removed it like 40 times, lol

      @@firetogaproductions190 hay i hit the same problem when trying to do a slow pan with the head it will sometimes just unscrew itself, have you found any fixes for it without getting a different set of legs/head?

      @@liaminwales Happens to me once in a while, but I'm not all over the pan. I mostly set up the tripod into a position and keep it there. My pans are pre-recording pan movements to get it into position.

      @@firetogaproductions190 thanks for the reply, maybe ill try seeing if i can use something to give it more grip, rubber or cork strips maybe.
      i find pans handy at times for video but cant use it on important shots when it just comes off at times.
      the older legs had 3 screws to lock the heads in place, wonder if manfrotto is trying to push people in to video tripods for more secure mounts.
      may send manfrotto a email see if they have an idea

    Great video, thanks. I have a question about the quick release plate on the 502AH. It takes a 504PLONG plate, which is really long for my Sony A7. And now I need an extra head for simple overhead filming, and these all seem to take the little 200PL quick release plates. Is there a way to convert the existing long plate into a short one that might be more compatible with the new head I'll buy? Or is there another way of going about this? Thanks for any help!

      Did you figure it out yet. I had a problem with another manfrotto tripod. The tripod head actually got stuck to the tripod. I took it out in the rain, and I think that was the problem, and I couldn't get the head off, almost broke the tripod. I actually put it in the freezer for an hour and that helped a little. Eventually I just pushed really hard and it finally popped off. So if you unscrewed the thing on the bottom, and you tightened all the knobs and it won't pop off, it may be stuck on there.
