- In this Microsoft Access tutorial, I'm going to teach you how to make a simple search form where you can search multiple fields. We'll use AND and OR conditions so you can search for either records that have all of the criteria or any of the criteria, and we'll do it with zero programming, so even beginners will be able to follow this one.
Grant from Decatur, Georgia (a Platinum Member) asks: I've watched several of your videos on building a search form. They're all very helpful, but most are a little bit over my head. I'm not a VBA programmer, and I really don't want to learn how to program. Is there an easy, simple way you can show us how to just do a search form that brings up a query with my results? I need to be able to search on first name, last name, and email address, and sometimes it can be one, two, or all three of those that I need to look for. I really want a search form like you show because my users are clueless and I don't want them to deal with queries and parameter prompts and such. Thanks!

Is there a way to have a multifield search with exact AND like criteria? For example, if they search the default autonumber field (primary key - so completely unique), or instead use a different field on the search form that is "like"? I attempted this, but what I found was that once I had one of the multifield criteria to be an exact match, you could no longer get a match/result in the other fields even though they hold a "like" formula. It will now ONLY search for the exact match on the singular field. I'm not sure if that makes sense. I've been looking around the web for answer to no avail!
Hi Richard. Good job. I have a student database, I created a form and linked the form to the query to generate each of the students result based on their names one by one. Note My Database Report Contain Student Details like name, class, sex, dob, scores, psychomotor and cognitive skills, teachers and principals remarks and signature. Pls How can I generate all student in a file at once. One by one searching waste a lot of my time. Thanks
Thanks
You're welcome
Where is part 2? I don't understand why the video stops.
