“That album was released when I was in high school” *physically crumbles to dust* I saw Iron Maiden in your for this album with friends from my first job after uni. :’(
Eh the Blaze ones sucks tho with his vochals but when like Bruce sings Sign of the cross it turns to one of their best songs. But yea they got no really bad album. Tho is no prayer and Fotd meh.
So the cover of this album is basically that the artist sent them a rough draft from Blender or some shit and Iron Maiden, being boomer as fuck, thought "that's good, ship it". I went on a gig on the tour for this album and they had an hand drawn version for stage and it was a lot better.
I literally just said to myself "Man, this album is nearly 20 years old! I was still in high school!" And then you said it yourself at the end of the song. Crazy to think how the whinging and complaining about Iron Maiden's latter day output was only just beginning back then. Kinda exhausting being a Maiden fan, similarly to Star Wars, as it feels like the fanbase just wanna bitch and complain about everything rather than just enjoy it for what it is. I actually have more of a connection to their post-reunion material as that's the stuff I first listened to and those are the tours I went on. Apologies for the long rant. I feel better now 😂
This album is 20 ,out in 2003. Not hard for me to remind cause i saw them only for this tour. I'm lucky enough to have the bootleg of this show ''Paris 2003''.😉🤘
This PS1 cover art sucks a lot but man, I fucking love this album. It’s so good. Journeyman has my fav Maiden chorus and is prolly my fav Maiden song period. Top three Maiden album for me.
I don't think Iron Maiden has ever had a bad album, even the 90s Blaze Bayley era stuff was pretty good. I think the music has evolved, and what we see post reunion is more in the direction we saw with tracks like Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, To Tame a Land, etc, just the album concepts evolved more following 2000 Truth be told, I think it speaks to their skill as musicians, being able to evolve while still being true to themselves. And for what it's worth, I really enjoyed The Final Frontier, and The Book of Souls as much as I enjoy Piece of Mind and Seventh Son, which I feel gets slept on a bit
Dance of Death is a great album shame the album cover puts people off it has some great songs like Wildest Dreams, Rainmaker, Paschendale, New Frontier and this so on, it's underrated wish they did this song on the Legacy Tour
i wonder if the vinyl cover is different... dance of death isn't my favourite maiden album tbh but i'd probably buy it if i didn't have to look at that grotesque cover
Never listened to other songs from this album, but I i got a real soft spot for the song Wildest Dreams. I loved when the music video for it came on the TV when i was little. That video and the song were both cool as hell.

Iron Maiden is one of the few popular metal bands that doesn't have a "terrible album"
I agree, No Prayer, X Factor, and Virtual XI even have great compositions.

Best maiden album of this century in my opinion so many gems
Didn't realize the amount of dexterity in order to play this one! GJ!
Paschendale is my favorite from Dance Of Death, the title track is a close second! More Maiden!!!

Dance of Death from En Vivo is one of my favorite Maiden songs live. Love it, great cover :)
One of my favorites, such an underrated song

This is one of my favorite maiden songs I use to have this cd and would either have this or self titled by black sabbath in my truck at all times lol
This song for sure was made using blood brothers as reference, i can't hear one without hearing the other, they sound a lot like each other
My fav Iron Maiden's song fking Pog
