I noticed one of the rear drawings for the unit indicated it could have the optional connector for the 2/70 side like the one you have here. I wonder what determines when the N connector will be used or why it would be used?
I'm new to HAM and the 991a is top of my list. question, I keep seeing prices for base station power supplies for $300+. why is no one using ATX computer power supplies? for $60 I can get 12V 40A.

I see you have a ferrite core on the microphone cable, You did this yourself (mine came without the ferrite)? And what is the reason for it?
I add ferrites everywhere
Does this radio work with thier remote software? I love everything about this radio except how small it is and no video out to a bigger monitor.
