I just checked the '365 days stationery' store that you mentioned, and they offer this pen with 8 nib options: EF, F, Hand Polished F, Hand Polished M, Long Knife0.6-0.95mm, Long Knife0.8-1.2mm, Long Knife1.0-1.45mm and Long Knife1.2-1.7mm.
@@Doodlebud just a heads-up, I got this with the 'hand polished medium' and it puts down lines thicker than a pelican broad. It is a very smooth and nicely tuned nib, so I have no doubt it was polished and checked in some capacity - but it's on par with my German double broad nibs.
It's so odd and remarkable that a niche pen would be so appreciated by a Chinese manufacturer that they copied it. Someone in the that company must really love pens.
I firs saw the Omas 360 at a pen store in the 1990s. I loved it, but I didn't have the funds to buy it. But the time I did, it was gone, and so was Omas. Lat year I picked up a used Omas 360, and I love it.
Super glad to hear the leaking issue hasn't repeated itself! I used to have that issue with a Pilot MR, seemed like every time I uncapped it a vacuum would form and I'd end up with a cap-full of ink. I have really been enjoying my Majohn V60 so far! Getting to try out such an unusual pen shape without having to put the money towards an Omas 360 was a big appeal for me. And I like it so much that I think I'm going to start keeping an eye out for a good deal on eBay!
Hi DB! Happy Fountain Pen Day! Ever since you showed the Omas 360 on your channel, I have been wanting one! Now Majohn has allowed me to be able to buy a fascinating pen at an affordable price! THANK YOU for showing it to us. Now I have a Black with gold trim on the way!

Mark Twain was impressed with the Conklin Crescent because it was a "profanity saving" pen. With the crescent fill system, it can't roll more than about 3/4 of a turn before it hits the crescent and stops. That's the detail that caused Conklin to make Mark Twain their brand ambassador.
I own a new Omas, the company was bought and the triangolo resurrected. It’s got a #8 nib I think.. ebonite feed, quite lovely. The white is quite groovy. Great vid.
My Moon Man (MaJohn V60) arrived today 13/11/24. Fine nib is a good wet writer. Angles on the body of the pen are sharper than I expected and will take some getting used to. I’ll have to keep it in a cloth pouch to keep it pristine- black and gold.
I just got mine... just now. Beautiful! I always wanted an Omas 360 and this is nearly as good. BUT, I don't understand how to fill, so I will watch the video again. I went with Medium "polished" nib. I dipped and it's sooooo smooth. ahhhh.
I love this! When you first introduced the OMAS 360, I really liked that shape, but there was no way I've ever be getting one at what they sell for. I will need to look into this.
Those tabs on the ring for the body also aid in alignment and ensure parts are in spec during manufacturing. Added that feature when I was mass producing parts at a company.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍. Might even be plastic that is cut into by the band during installation. Either way it keeps it more secure especially since it's down by your fingers so there's more potential for it to come lose over time from use. Smart detail 👌
Hello Doodlebud, thank you for another informative review and please keep them coming. I want to say that I too have an original Omas 360. I bought it new in Bologna in 1996 when I was a young engineer and the “casa” was still going strong then and I even joined their OMAS Society . There is none of the rattling, looseness or sealing problem in the cap that you mentioned and to this day the cap snaps on with unerring mechanical precision. Perhaps the one you bought was a bit misused (?). I also did buy an Omas Ogiva as an EDC and have enjoyed both pens to this day, into my retirement. I am a subscriber to your channel and appreciate and own many of the affordable modern pens that are being made by Chinese manufacturers at an ever increasing manufacturing quality at very affordable prices. However, while replica/homage pens can give you an idea of what an original would feel like (like you said) , they are definitely two worlds apart. Regards.
I saw these and ordered right away. The nibs from the P136 work. I swapped a medium over to mine. I believe you can also purchase the P136 nibs separately. Thanks for another great review!
Thanks for the details. I ordered it yesterday with an EF nib I guess and am happy that it's another quality pen from the Moonman stable at a fair price. My 2 cents about copies, straight away copies, inspired by and the likes. The original is the original and the copy is not the original by any means, like the Admok J800 and J 400 vs Pelikan, The Moonman V60 vs. Omas 360 and so many other FP models. Just like I look at it.

Greetings from Australia. This is a very informative video. I have just bought one in white/silver with a medium nib. The 1.1 nibs were sold out. (Australian Ebay) It cost me $55Aud with postage included.
I have a couple of 3 side pens in my collection beside the MaJohn V60 - Scripto ballpoint and Lamy Ideos fountain pen/ballpoint pens. I am a big fan of the three/tri sided section/body.
I forget when the 360 was released, perhaps around 2000. Omas spent $5,000,000 in development. The retail price when it was introduced was very high to me. I decided to opt for the ballpoint. Now, the price is even higher for the fountain pen Shortly after its release, Omas announced it was folding up. It did not recoup the cost of the 360. I am usually not a fan of triangular grip pens. What I found is the concave design of the grip. This pen's section is convex and rounded on the sides, making it more comfortable for me to use. I have the V60 in my cart. I didn't buy it as I wanted to see a review of it. I will get the fine nib as I have found them to work very well with little if any adjustment needed. I do wish MaJohn made a softer nib. I wonder if the Hong Dian soft nib will fit.
That's a mighty quick turn-around from request to video, cheers! Did you notice an unusual amount of slop in the piston mechanism? I guess it can't be much worse than the piston on the real OMAS 360, they weren't exactly built to last.
Great review, like always. Question is it possible to twist the nib so it aligns to a flat side and the point of the barrel? The way I hold a pen makes me want to move the angle but your talking about alignment makes me afraid to do it.
Regarding your ink incident, I have experienced that but my conclusion was that it was caused by temperature change. I had filled the pen when the pen and ink were in a room that was a bit chilly. I carried the pen in my inside coat pocket and pulled it out to use in a much warmer room. I have not experimented to see if I can repeat the issue
@@erro0257 mine went from my office, to car, to house so barely any temp change. Last night I legit slept with it in my pocket 😴 and opened this morning and no leak 😁. I try me best to test all scenarios 🤣
Wow ! Mine arrived yesterday (Nov 11). I bought the black with gold trim. After giving it a flushing, I put in a Goulet flex nib . Always have a few lying around. Bottom line, a great and unusall pen . Thanks. KB
I bought one in black with gold trim. I'm impressed, especially at this price. Should they ever come out with a medium nibbed version, I'll definitely buy it. The fine nib is okay, it works, but medium will be better suited to my handwriting tastes. Another Moonman triumph, alongside their superb version of the Montblanc Hemingway.
Interesting... i wonder if the grip would feel larger or smaller than what I'm imagining. I've moved away from small grips with time. I like the design!
I recently started catching up on pen news after a very long time away and I was very surprised to see that Omas went through a closure and change of hands. Even more surprised that they're not making the 360 anymore.
I saw them. They were limited editions and some of the last 360s, OMAS made. Those 2 were were more common but there was a third one that looked black, but was really a smokey purple and chased with a criss-cross pattern.
There are roll stops that slide onto the pens. Various styles from various makers, some are adjustable. A few pen companies offer accessory roll stops and clips. A few clipless, round pens in my folders have gotten a child-size finger ring that keeps them off the floor.
@@Doodlebud You're right. The glue might degrade over time. It would break off, then your pen would roll off the desk and get damaged. It might be better to use epoxy, a plastic welder, or even a screw.
I might know why you had a leak. I fully disassembled my V60 and found that the o-rings on the nib unit was dislodged and there wasn't a perfect seal (I'm referring to the o-rings that interface the threads on the screw-in nib unit). I removed the o-rings, added some silicone grease, and haven't had an issue since then. I also had no issue removing the piston mechanism. It disassembles like any other piston mechanism except you need to fiddle around with it to get the blind cap to align with the body (not difficult at all).
Good to hear it went back together ok. I was just repeating what they advised. Some users might struggle getting things aligned causing frustration. For those who feel confident in going at it, give it a go 👍
Yeah I hear ya. But like you said its not even made anymore and when you can find one its at a price that very few can afford. It might end up driving the price up further for the real 360 pens as some will get this one and then want to get a real Omas 360
Good review as always, 365 Days stationary has been my choice for most of my aliexpress purchases, them sending in products to be review is one of the reasons why. Hard to get information on some of these new releases otherwise Is that the Titan by Fifty4T in the background? Interesting to see what you think about that one.
Thanks for the review, DB! I’ll definitely have to pick one of these up! If you do print the liner cap of the Omas, can you print a few extra so I can buy one off you? My Omas 360 needs one! It’s unusable otherwise
Since metal can make a sharp edge and eventually split when folded, as the triangular band on the barrel would, removing a bit from the fold can minimize that tendency, as well as risk of slicing open the digits of the owner. Could this, rather than snug fit, be the reason the Moonmen improved their design over the original?
@ the black one is made from a very smooth, comfortable material. Surprisingly,a very comfortable writing device, ergonomically designed with a medium nib with plenty of material on that medium nib, more like a broad.
Opinion question: An early version of a higher-end fountain pen has a cap ring with engraving that is not quite symmetrical, especially compared to its current version. Do you think this makes the pen more valuable (like a coin that was double struck), less valuable (because it isn’t perfect), or doesn’t impact the value either way?
I kind of wish I had a pen like this several months ago when I was re-learning my handwriting. It would have forced me to use a "proper" grip. Not that I think it necessary for good handwriting, but the way I hold pens is pretty nonstandard and not the most comfortable for long periods of writing, but I feel like it's too late to try and learn to hold the pen differently. (When I said re-learning handwriting earlier, what I meant was that my handwriting was pretty crap, so I decided to start from scratch and learn cursive. Not that I didn't know how or forgot how to write by hand.)
I have a question. I'm new to the fountain pen thing. I'm using two safaries for 3 months now. Love them but i want something new. From the pens in the description that you like which ones would you recommend the most. Like top 3 ot them and are they better than the safari. Sorry for the yapping 😅
I have an Omas 360 that I purchased new about twenty years ago. It love the pen but I don't carry it because of the value if it was lost or damaged. So I purchased two of these and they are actually pretty well made so I am pleased. Now I can carry them and if they are damaged or lost I will be unhappy but it will not be a disaster. Great review as usual.
When you grease it with the Q-tip, and it's sufficiently lubricated, is it ok to ink the pen right after or do you need to somehow wipe the internal structure of the piston?
That is a nice pen. As an over-writing lefty, the triangular barrel doesn't work well for me, but I WISH they did. (Heh.) The other problem is that for as much as I LOVE Majohn's pen designs, I have grown to NOT like their nibs. Could be just luck of the draw, but 3 out of 5 duds ordered plus serious work needed on the A1's default just to get it to write properly does NOT inspire confidence. IMO, Jinhao schools Majohn in the nib department. (Still drooling over my my heartbeat nib on the 9013. 😀)
@@limmoblack Reverse writing is luck of the draw. These aren't tuned for regular & reverse. If you get one that works good in reverse you got lucky. True for most nibs out there
Good video as always Doodle!! Followed your link and it was 23.99 on Ali. Then I logged into Ali and it changed to 30.99. 365 store said it was an intro for new customers, trying to mimic cell companies I guess. Shear principal and my stubborn attitude, I didn't need to support them anyway!
I think it's an Aliexpress promotion for new buyers. They get a deal on their first Aliexpress purchase as an incentive. Lots of companies do it to attract new customers. Not uncommon for retailers (in store or online) to have incentives for new & returning customers.
I'm really glad the FP community hasn't gotten any chinesium aversion and is willing to try out all the chinese pens for what they are. As someone who also builds Gunpla they are absolutely insufferable when it comes to Chinese models even though recently they are getting really good and cheap while the official company has shown again and again that they don't care about us and keep making shitty kits.
Intellectually I am fine with this copy GIVEN that the original is no longer manufactured. But my heart still whispers "This is wrong". I had the same reaction to the Jinhao 82, except that I wanted it, so I bought 4. So don't accuse ME of being a man of character.
I hear ya, rubs me the wrong way initially. But anytime there is a successful product competitors take notice. Some make their product similar to the original, some make it VEEEEEERRRFY SIMILAR to the original. I always think of the V Groove tire tread. One of the big manufacturers came out with it first, then shortly after everyone else has the same thing on their tires.
I have the white (Iceberg) OMAS 360. Fabulous pen, all round. Thrilled to have bought it around 2 years ago. I’m not the least bit pleased to see this Chinese rip-off replica of the original.
I hear ya. To play the wet blanket, it can look like a 360 all it wants, people bought OMAS for the nib. Granted, I have not written with it, nor any other Mahjon (whatever), so be that as it may, I don't find clones terribly exciting.
@ I never quite liked Chinese rip-offs of the great originals. Somehow, I’ve grown to detest them even more now than ever before. I clicked out of sheer curiosity but didn’t watch this video, in full. Went back to get hold of my real deal OMAS instead. 🙂
What irritates me about these clones, and this one in particular (how dare they clone the 360) is just the blatant lack of creativity. Want to copy the design, go right ahead; take the shape. Where is irks me is have a different looking clip, and whilst not exactly the same as the OMAS cap band, they are using the same Greek key design. Do something different there. There are thousands of Chinese characters to use, or sheeeeit, use triangles, but to use the Greek key. Same with the name. Like show yourself to have some integrity. V60. How original.......... I could respect something like that. I can not like this. One reason I respect Hongdian pens. Don't know if it will write like an OMAS though, which is the most important part of it. I am trying really hard not to be nasty lol. Not to you Doodlebud, but to the pen.

Good review as always, 365 Days stationary has been my choice for most of my aliexpress purchases, them sending in products to be review is one of the reasons why. Hard to get information on some of these new releases otherwise
Is that the Titan by Fifty4T in the background? Interesting to see what you think about that one.
Yes it is and it's a badass pen!
Doodlebud: Man I really want this expensive pen but cheaper.
Mahjong: You rang?
Thanks for the review, DB! I’ll definitely have to pick one of these up!
If you do print the liner cap of the Omas, can you print a few extra so I can buy one off you? My Omas 360 needs one! It’s unusable otherwise
You too hey! Sucks when a pen just doesn't seal 😒. If I design something that works I'll do my best to make it available
It is possible
I knew at some point you might get this for comparison. I will watch this under protest :P

@@Doodlebud LOL
What is that demonstrator in the background? Is that a conid? The derlin looks more… textured?
You have a few prestigious pens. If you inked them up and let them sit for a couple of months which ones would write when the nib hits the paper?
Quite a few actually, and from all price points. My Jinhao 82 would work and so would my Montblanc 149 along with a bunch of pens in between
@@Doodlebud few is correcg.
Just took delivery of 2 Pelikan Twists today. Are you familiar with these pens? Three sided click cap.
I've seen those but they've never really appealed to me
@ the black one is made from a very smooth, comfortable material.
No idea on that one
I kind of wish I had a pen like this several months ago when I was re-learning my handwriting. It would have forced me to use a "proper" grip. Not that I think it necessary for good handwriting, but the way I hold pens is pretty nonstandard and not the most comfortable for long periods of writing, but I feel like it's too late to try and learn to hold the pen differently.
(When I said re-learning handwriting earlier, what I meant was that my handwriting was pretty crap, so I decided to start from scratch and learn cursive. Not that I didn't know how or forgot how to write by hand.)
P60 sounds as close to 360 as V60 does... but is a Pelikan pen they are maybe wanting to avoid issues with?
I have a question. I'm new to the fountain pen thing. I'm using two safaries for 3 months now. Love them but i want something new. From the pens in the description that you like which ones would you recommend the most. Like top 3 ot them and are they better than the safari. Sorry for the yapping 😅
I really wanna try something with more flexibility than the lamy nib or of not flexible at least smoother

For under $40 USD? I just ordered on in the yellow and chrome. Thanks!
Do you think those pieces of plastic holding the band on the grip section could also be used to hold the cap in place when the pen is capped?
Nope, the cap is held in place by the profile at the very end of the section fitting into a groove inside the cap liner 🤓
very odd -my red version has those tabs on the cap and section band..but only on 1 of the points of the triangle rather than all 3!!
Hmm, might not be a feature but potentially plastic being cut back from the ring being pressed on
Is the band cracked? At 10:55?
That's a fiber from a clothe or something like that
@Doodlebud at least you know I was paying attention.
hey, was just wondering if you ever make pen drawings with your pens?
Sometimes but I've been designing other things and been using my pens for that
I have an Omas 360 that I purchased new about twenty years ago. It love the pen but I don't carry it because of the value if it was lost or damaged. So I purchased two of these and they are actually pretty well made so I am pleased. Now I can carry them and if they are damaged or lost I will be unhappy but it will not be a disaster. Great review as usual.
@@raclark52 Absolutely, some pens you just don't want to risk it. Pretty impressive for the price!
When you grease it with the Q-tip, and it's sufficiently lubricated, is it ok to ink the pen right after or do you need to somehow wipe the internal structure of the piston?
I would run the piston up & down several times first
What desk mat are you using?
It's called a "healing pad" from Princess Auto up here in Canada. But lots of places carry them
What was the model name of the Pineider 3 sided pen you did a video on? Thanks
@@MrAndrew1953 Modern Times
@ Thanks for that. I did find your video. It’s still an innovative and interesting pen. Do you still have, use your pen?
I ordered one and the piston cap didn't close properly.
those tabs on the section ring don't look intentional to me, they're not even enough. one is long er than the other, and one is wider.
It could be material cut and peeled back from the band being pressed on. Might be an intentional feature, might not be
"dead nuts" 😎
So satisfying to conventionally turn a part on a lathe and have it right on spec. "This one is dead nuts"
Noice 🔥
I had to order the pen. The price was too good.
Aww, no reverse writing?
How can it be better than the original ? Omas' founder will haunt you for the rest of your life 😂
It's ok, I'm a heavy sleeper 😴
I'm really glad the FP community hasn't gotten any chinesium aversion and is willing to try out all the chinese pens for what they are. As someone who also builds Gunpla they are absolutely insufferable when it comes to Chinese models even though recently they are getting really good and cheap while the official company has shown again and again that they don't care about us and keep making shitty kits.
Italian: beautiful design but poor durability/reliability.
@@Doodlebud My example is the iPhone. Remember how phones used to have keyboards?
@ichirofakename Yup absolutely. Everyone loved iPhone when it came out, now no matter your brand, it's based on iPhone
@@sajjadhusain4146 We sail in the same ship friend.
@ Ha, we have been hitting on the same wavelength for quite a while now on these pen channels.,
What irritates me about these clones, and this one in particular (how dare they clone the 360) is just the blatant lack of creativity.
Looks like cheap, fragile garbage with a very poor nib. The flood of Chinese c**p into the fountain pen world is an absolute bane.
Tempting. I don’t really think about a grail pen but any of the original Omas would be one my top picks.
