I toured the An-225 about 30 years ago when it came to BDL in Connecticut. I paid the extra $5 and got to go upstairs into the cockpit. I got to sit in the pilots seat. How awesome. There was enough room behind the cockpit to carry 80 crew comfortably. The An -225 set the new standard for air transport.

Are you smoking crack ? It may have been big but it sure as hell didn't set the standard for air transport, the 747 set the standard for passenger aircraft and the C 5 for cargo transportation , i swear to God, people on drugs should not be allowed to use a computer !!!!!!!!

She may not be fitted out with all the modern technology, however she is still plying her trade around the world. • @FirstNameLastName-cu2tq
      @FirstNameLastName-cu2tq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Yes, it is way more Russian plane than Ukrainian.
Just think about it this way. Apple phones, who made (build) them? Is it an American company who is IN CHARGE OF ALL DECISIONS related to this phone or Chineese company with manufacuring facility?
      More on this.
      1. The decision to make this plane was made NOT IN UKRAINE, but in Russia (Moscow) in 1985 on a meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
      2. The whole project was financed by central government from Moscow (Russia).
      3. *Parts of this plane that were designed and made NOT in Ukraine:*
Production: new large-sized milled power frames, fuselage lows and brackets, some serial units and aircraft parts - Russia, Ulyanovsk Aviation Industrial Complex (UAPK)
Production: new central parts of the wings with flaps and end (detachable) parts of the wings - serial consoles from An-124 - Uzbekistan, "Tashkent Aviation Production Association named after V.P. Chkalov" (TAPOiCH)
Design: a new complex of aerobatic equipment A-825, modernized (control complex of the A-825M aircraft) - Russia, "Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automation" (MIEA)
Production: aircraft control complex A-825M - Russia, "Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automation" (MIEA) - Russia, "Moscow Institute of Electromechanics and Automation" (MIEA)
Design: new aircraft landing gear - Russia, "Gidromash" city of Gorky.
Manufacturing: aircraft landing gear - Russia, "Gidromash" city of Gorky.
      4. Final assembly of this plane was made at Ukrainian plane design and manufacturing facility "Antonov". That facility itself was created in Ukraine BY DECISION MADE IN RUSSIA, MOSCOW in the office of Communist Party of Soviet Union. In order to create that facility to Ukraine was RELOCATED WHOLE RUSSIAN DESIGN BUREAU WITH RUSSIAN ENGINEERS from Novosibirsk (Russia) Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov. ALL chief designers of this design bureau were Russians by nationality, 2 out of 3 born in Russia and educated in Russia. Their names are: Antonov O.K., Tolmachev V. I., Balabuev P.V.
      5. At the time of USSR in different years in Ukraine were made from dozens to more than hundred planes per year.
A few years ago Ukraine publicly announced that they are stopping buying any parts for plane manufacturing from Russia and will substitute those parts with own or made on the West.
Apart from made in garages small plastic two-seat planes weighing up to 1000 kg, could you guess *how many planes were made in Ukraine since that time for last 5 years? The answer is Z-E-R-O.*
How many planes were made in Russia for the same 5 years? - Around 500 planes and on top of it around 700 helicopters.

It is currently in a state of pristine preservation in a big hangar in Ukraine and if anyone has a a spare $350m they will glue it all together for you. Apart from made in garages small plastic two-seat planes weighing up to 1000 kg, could you guess how many planes were made in Ukraine for last 5 years? The answer is Z-E-R-O.
How many planes were made in Russia for the same 5 years? - Around 500 planes and on top of it around 700 helicopters.
Do you still believe that Ukraine can build planes?
