  • This is a Knock Out pinball machine made by Gottlieb in 1950.
This machine is one of the best of the classic Gottlieb woodrail era. Designed by Harry Mabs with artwork by the great Roy Parker, this game has some really neat animation inside the boxing ring on the playfield.
There's no doubt that this is a cool machine. Completing the 1 through 5 bumpers scores a knockout. Hitting the 1-3 and 3-5 targets also scores a knockout, as do the left and right lanes and the rollover button, when lit.
The blocking gate between the flippers is activated when each ball is plunged into play. It remains in place until each ball achieves 300k points.
The big money shot is lighting the left and right saucers for 500k by rolling through the left or right lane twice. Once lit, the saucers remain lit for the duration of the game. Making the saucers repeatedly builds the milions quickly.
