"This is a low slung truck designed to assist with braking." Or as we Americans call them, slugs, which are heavily modified low slung cabless diesel locomotives coupled behind or in front of one or more powered locomotives, and are used for switching around freight yards, mostly for additional braking power and extra horsepower. They operate through the usage of distributive power from the powered unit, similar to BoCo's tender in this story.

Bill and Ben have no trouble stopping because they are 0-4-0 saddle tank engines who i believe have either steam or air brakes or perhaps their crews stop them by shutting off steam and putting on the hand brakes. I think diesels don't have none of the weight that a steam engine has so i guess that's way they need help stopping
I think they have the weight, but early diesels couldn’t use it in the same way shunters and steam goods engines could. And of course they needed more braking power to work trains with older trucks
i think Judy and Alfred was fitted with steam brakes during their working life but in order to pull passenger trains they have been fitted with air brakes
Very much underrated. Lots of legit creativity poured into this :) The idea to use the Diseasal theme for the brake song was especially fun :D Props to the writer too; its a simple but fun story in terms of the brake tender mechanic (oftentimes a Thomas story can be over-complicated when using a mechanic like that so I think he struck a nice balance there)
The narration sounded a little monotone at time or robotic, yet the character voicing was on point! Very weird to listen to in the different paces, but loved the video
Excellently outstandin' work with including the officially well-knowingly familiar tune of the Diseasel for the official montage of BoCo the metropolitan-vicars diesel-electric type 2 class 28 locomotive himself sang a song WHILE pulling a goods train with Bill & Ben who'd officially well-knowingly obviously have been messing around with BoCo the metropolitan-vicars diesel-electric type 2 class 28 locomotive's own official brake tender as it certainly does officially well-knowingly obviously bring back the official memory of when the twins from the Sodor China Clay Pits played a trick on BoCo the metropolitan-vicars diesel-electric type 2 class 28 locomotive himself to get back @ him for taking their own official China Clay filled freight cars!

This wouldn't feel out of place during one of the earlier seasons.
4:28 I'll bet Edward had good laugh at this.
Bill: then the engines for the job are-
Boco:
BILL AND BEN!
4:43 I spat out my drink in laughter at Henry’s line!
Who wouldn't? It just comes out of nowhere. And is easily one of the best lines I've heard from a fan project.
OMG THAT WAS FREAKING HILAROIUS XD
One of the best classic series styled videos I've watched this year, and that's no joke. You nail the humor and pacing.
Thank you! :D
@ThomasFan2002 you should adapt the brake tender in one of your stories
i love that you use series 2 vibes in this episode.
Boco’s jingle (countering Bill and Bens from earlier): boop OHH burn 🔥
That was a fantastic story. I loved the song the twins and Boco sang in the yards and mainline.

I really loved the musical bill and Ben sung
Double the love with Boco's version.

why would bill and ben’s crews allow them to play around with a break tender?
That was Brilliant!, You did a Great Job on This.

how far is it from Wellsworth to the river Els?
Where did you find this Wellsworth Station route?

Shouldn't tender go in front of boco
