It has been 3 years since I first saw this. Their jokes are still so relevant, their incessant snickering and the relatability. I'm so glad we still have these behind the scenes snippets. Absolutely adore the comradery and miss these guys from the bottom of my tiny aching heart. Koi nahi time shall heal all that has happened and they shall rise as a Alt Media company again.

The narrative style of musicals is music. That's why the songs are similar because they portray the characters and the narrative style of the writer and director. And because a good movie has the same narrative style, the songs have similar production/notes/progression. There's a difference between musicals and movies with music.

So about the songs of La La Land having the same/similar melody, Musicals have similar melodies in some of their songs because they use music as a motif ie., A melody, rhythm, musical phrase etc that is repeated because it is associated with a particular character, feeling, image or scene and so when they are repeated it reminds the audience of that character, image, feeling or scene.

About La La Land, and Hollywood musicals in general, the reason the songs sound the “same” is because they all have to fit the theme and the sound of the film. La La Land depends on its music to further the plot, whereas most if not all Hindi musicals are jukebox musicals which don’t exactly require the music to further the plot, therefore they don’t need to follow a theme (excluding the regular score). The soundtrack is used as promotional material rather than being essential to the story. I like both for what they are, but to each their own.
