The bottom line emphasis on the talismans Nonviolence and adherence to Constirtution are so relevant in global context today. Existing democracies are potentially crumbling in response to violence by arms-bearing vigilantes and constabt ramming against Constitution and Legal systems by those in power. Autocracy in the making globally.

Around 28 mins: "To be religious is to believe in god, goddess, deity... whatever form you believe in. To be communal is to insist that that is the only way."
Sorry, ma'am. To believe ("insist" is a strong and probably loaded word) that "that is the only way" is monotheism. This is a part of some religious traditions, just as polytheism is a part of others. LK Advani was wont to argue that monotheistic religions are intolerant (suggesting that polytheistic ones are not). This doesn't follow, and it all depends on the political contexts of the time. Each religion has gone through phases of tolerance and intolerance, dominance and being dominated. This is true of virtually all faith traditions.
To be secular is to accept our differences (even if we all think our religious beliefs are right, to lesser or greater extent), and to respect the rights of others to believe in what they wish. Also, very importantly for our times, to avoid a secular state from dabbling/funding etc religion(s) in whatever shape and form.

    I believe that “Self-reflectiveness” is a m
ore accutate term here than “self-reflexivity” as TMK called it.

Cross referencing of specialities is the acute most problem in India....sportsmen becoming MP...singer , celebrity becoming MP, hereditary journalist becoming MP....This should stop....one doesn't primarily depend on consult an orthopedic surgeon when the actual problem lies within the domain of say Hypothetically expertise ...an Infectious medicine speciality...our upliftment from a so called 3rd world society to what is currently known as 1st world ...is being hampered by this all rounder experts....jack of all trend and master of only talk....meritocracy should focus on their own domain skills and be ironclad with that domain principle ...with collaboration of all iron clad domain expertise..the pillars of democracy always falls in place....we need more of ironclad domain experts ..not the high talking ,jack of many trades but actual masters of any....😮
