When I first listened to Raaga Puriya Dhanashree on the violin by Sangeeta Shankar (Daughter of Dr N Rajam), I felt it was saying something but I could not understand it. But I got hooked to this Raaga. I have heard almost everyone great singers, and you are good ! I would like to hear Raaga Ahir Bhairav in your voice, if you please. God bless you.
There is nothing to feel bad about it. Ragas do convey feelings (Bhava) even without lyrics.There are great ragas like Malkauns, Shree, Sohni, Jogiya which can bring tears to eyes.
its good you are sensitive to notes,but pls spare this short mediocre singing, listen to elaborated alaaps of masters like bhimsen joshi,pandit jasraj,mallikarjun mansur and kishori amonkar.expand your attention span..that would be true appreciation of indian classical music.

There is no age bar my friend to learn classical music. Just find out a guruji /gurumata who can guide you and learn under his/her feet. Classical music is an endless ocean the end of which is known to nobody. So start sailing under the guidence of a captain and discover new beauties and joy and please your heart. Sangeet is God, the endless one, the ocean of joy.
Beautiful... presentation. However explanation of Raga which you did at end would give more effect if 3xplained at beginning or at the end of primary aalap ,bin this case at 1.40... Those who know recognise es immediately , within one minute during primary aalap. But to popularise Indian Classical music raaga should be explained with Aaroh avroh and 2 prime phrases which establishes the identity. The future of Indian classical music is definitely very bright , when how to listen and what to listen is introduced to audience..
