There's a new Christmas movie on Netflix called "Single all the Way" and it's actually pretty good (coming from someone who generally doesn't like the hallmarkesque Christmas movie)
12:46 Fun fact! Jim intentionally tried to make the cloth trick fail but as you saw, he snatched it off like a champ. So when he went back to clear the table that was him fixing his mistake! *The crew found it hilarious so they kept it in* 🤣🤣🤣
I was going to say. I heard it was scripted that he was supposed to knock everything down but I think they ended up with a better scene then intended, making lemonade.
You can say that to Nostalgia critic since he hated the movie. In fact, he prefers the Illumination version despite; The Grinch's horrible rap and his twerking, Cindy lou having no personality or charm, his nonsense past, the boring narrator and music. Yes, Doug sincerely prefers it :S
12:50 Fun fact: That was not scripted! They wanted Jim Carrey to pull it off and have everything go flying off the table for a gag. But Carrey is such a master at it he kept doing it perfectly, so finally, he just went back and knocked everything off by hand, and that's the take they went with.
I remember seeing this in theaters; when Martha Mae slides down the presents and her robe kinda goes up behind her for a moment and she looks a bit flustered/excited…..the theater was quiet for a beat…then a woman said “oh my gaaawd” and we all burst out laughing.
I was TERRIFIED of this movie for alot of my childhood because of the Grinch. Like I would burst out crying because my older sister use to put it on to scare me lol. But now I love it, and identify with the Grinch more than anyone, and love quoting him
When I was five I figured out how to order pay per view through the tv and I ordered the animated version of this like 7 times 😂 my mom managed to get most of her money back when she called the company and explained what I did 😂
Directed by Ron Howard starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch. A member of Whoville who hates Christmas. It was so uncomfortable for Jim Carrey to wear his costume and makeup that the directed would do the same thing. When it became equally as uncomfortable for Howard he would give everyone a break. Carrey would later state that it was the longest and worst thing that he ever had to do
I was terrified of the Grinch for a while because my family visited Universal Studios when I was a baby, and I took a picture with the character. But now it's one of my favorite movies Period.
The Grinch says all his things came to him in the Whos' garbage -- especially their old Christmas gifts. That implies that Max the dog also came to him in the garbage, and was probably someone's unwanted Christmas gift...but the Grinch adopted him, which shows that he isn't a bad guy.
I didnt know there were issues on set with this movie, however Jim Carrey is one of my favorite comedic actors of all time, so I knew that I was gonna like this. The cartoon is my yearly Christmas tradition though.
Gotta be honest first time I watched this movie. I really didn't like it. It just didn't hit me the way the original cartoon one did. But a year or so later I watched it again. And I was wrong this version is awesome. So much fun and I like the take on the grinch being mean because the whos bullied him. Plus it is just funny
There's a very popular theory that his speech about all the Christmas presents he finds in the dump is also an explanation for how he got Max. Just a little Christmas puppy that someone didn't bother taking back and just up and dumped.
Based on the book written by Dr. Seuss and directed by Ron Howard starring Jim Carrey as the Grinch. Carrey's outfit and makeup were so uncomfortable to wear that Ron Howard would also do the same thing throughout production. Whenever Jim Carrey had to stop Ron Howard would let everyone else also take a timeout. Carrey would later say that it was the most torturous thing that he ever had to to do
Dude, love your reaction to this movie!! The Grinch is my absolute favorite Christmas movie!! Jim Carrey nailed it as the grinch. I've seen this movie dozens of times and it still makes me laugh every time! Also, fun fact: the scene when the grinch puts on a directors hat and pretends to "dierct" max. That was improved by Jim, he was making a joke at Director Ron Howard. But Ron loved the joke so much that he kept it in the movie.
That mountain of junked Christmas presents the Grinch lives under is how Who-society causes and ignores all problems for those they blame for the problems. Quite a message guys, this is so anti-Christmas it's funny. Especially as Max is the lone survivor of all abandoned Christmas puppies.
I love the way Jim Carrey sang the iconic song "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" while adding his own comedic elements to it like the hilarious sound effects. And his freak out when the sleigh takes off. "We're going to die!! We're going to die!! I'm going to throw up, and then I'm going to die!! Mommy, tell it to stop!!" Two more points: I really love how the actress who played Cindy Lou, Taylor Momsen went on to be the front woman and lead singer of a band called The Pretty Reckless. I also really love how the actress who played Martha May also played Leonard's mother on The Big Bang Theory: the amazing Christine Baranski. One of my favorite funny moments: Grinch: Taxi.... *the taxi driver drives by him, leaving him momentarily stunned* Grinch: It's because I'm *GREEN* isn't it?!
Fun fact, there's a lot of deleted scenes, like the lights show competition scene, the telescope scene, and some other 6 hours (i think) of removed scenes, some were on some home media realeses, some never saw the day of light
I went to universal studios years ago and I visited this set and I got a pic It’s was really cool 😎 Oddly enough, if I remember correctly, it was located right near the bates motel and house lol
Ha, one of my favorite lines is when he's flipping through the ledger of the Whos in Whoville, "Alexander Williams Who, I hate you. Amanda Daisy Who, I hate you." Finger points down over the names, "Hate, hate, hate, LOATHE ENTIRELY!" Lol. I made up the names, but it's hilarious.
Okay, My input on this movie. First of all, It's most of the mayor's fault he wanted the town to hate Grinch even as a child he wanted them to bully him, and then years later down the road, he tried to show up for the holiday event and he is reminded of a day that wasn't good for him, and the mayor knew that it would set him off and make everyone fear him this whole story is more about bullying the grinch then just Christmas, however point 2. But I can also see the Grinch's point of views about the greed and always wanted more and more and every year's gifts do end up in the garbage. So, he's not wrong, the town is sort of a greedy town if you ask me, the way they act, but otherwise this story is mostly about a misunderstood creature who was isolated way too long and because of thee bullying he never wanted to go home. SO, he made a new home away from everyone and only has a dog only. So, that's what I get from this movie, but still good one and the charismas story is nice in the mix of it all.
I LOVE this movie and I have never ever met a person who didn't like it here in my country. I guess Latinos have a soft spot for this one, I was shocked when I heard in the US a lot of people hated it or were scared of it.
It's probably because we aren't that connected to the original story or the old animations like people in the USA are? At least I know that when it came to the Grinch, this is the version most people I know thinks of. To us Is just a funny movie. For the USA is a failed adaptation.
Everytime I watch this movie I'm reminded that the actress that played Cindy Lou is in some sort of rock band now and I think used to be known for parkouring away from paparazzi or something? idk I find it hilarious
There was only ONE fruitcake ever made back in 1512 and its just been circulating around the world for the last few centuries, house to house. It even survived the sinking of the Titanic.
Directed by Ron Howard starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch who absolutely hates Christmas. However he lives among the Who's who absolutely love the festive holiday. Narrated by Anthony Hopkins. Jim Carrey was so uncomfortable with his costume and makeup that director Ron Howard would do the same thing. Whenever he had enough he would give everyone a break
I always find the Who's more scary than the Grinch especially their faces. Gosh they are creepy O-O He can be funny and entertaining despite his evil smile but they are soooo much scarier. It's great that the Grinch found a friend, could celebrate Christmas with everyone even if they were all jerks except Cindy lou and got his girlfriend back. Take that Mayor! You can't tricked a women with a ring and a car, money doesn't do everything X) It's satisfying although the Mayor could have a punishment. He was the first kid who bullied the Grinch, this freak should be chased from the party. Guess Grinchy is a bit naive and forgives him too.
fun fact: Jim Carrey didnt mean to keep the dishes on the table then push it off. he accidentally did the magic trick and left. then he hw came back into frame and pushed the dishes off the table
Directed by Ron Paul starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch. A person who hates Christmas. So much so that the Who's drive him nuts with their constant caroling. So The Grinch decides to steal the festive holiday

I was thinking of making Wile E Coyote do the same thing sometime!
😁
I was going to say. I heard it was scripted that he was supposed to knock everything down but I think they ended up with a better scene then intended, making lemonade.
“Any critic who gave this move a bad review, you can go shove it in the place where the sun don’t shine.”
Damn straight 🤣
😈

LOVE THIS
20:47 "...Is that cheer? Mother of Christ..."
I don't know why but that got me off guard so bad and I've been laughing for a solid minute at that!
I remember seeing this in theaters; when Martha Mae slides down the presents and her robe kinda goes up behind her for a moment and she looks a bit flustered/excited…..the theater was quiet for a beat…then a woman said “oh my gaaawd” and we all burst out laughing.
I love how even in the flashback where the mayor says "Martha was my girlfriend" she wasn't even looking at him she was staring at the Grinch 😂😂
I was TERRIFIED of this movie for alot of my childhood because of the Grinch. Like I would burst out crying because my older sister use to put it on to scare me lol. But now I love it, and identify with the Grinch more than anyone, and love quoting him
More than anyone...?
You sure you haven't got green hair for fingernails then? lol
I remember that I thought it he was mostly funny but certain scenes scared me 😂 like his creepy smile made me go ewww 💀 😂
YES
My papa took me to see this in theaters as a kid and I got so scared in the first ten minutes we had to leave but I was like 5 years old
This was me with the Nightmare before Christmas. Now I can't get enough of it!
When I was five I figured out how to order pay per view through the tv and I ordered the animated version of this like 7 times 😂 my mom managed to get most of her money back when she called the company and explained what I did 😂
Iconic
I still find it funny that the actress who played Cyndi Lou Who is now a heavy metal singer, she legit rocks.
Carrey would later state that it was the longest and worst thing that he ever had to do
Jim Carrey had to get torture training from a CIA operative to be able to endure the make up and prosthetics process.
@@fightingfaerie and he complained about it the who time
Fun fact, Jim actually tried to quit this movie I think four times because the make up and costume took about three hours to get on and off
I read they literally brought in an expert in torture survival, the type of training they give soldiers to help him through the horrific process
“She is an angel. We all need to love and cherish her”
Me: I mean yes, but cut from Cindy Lou Who to Taylor Momsen in the Pretty Reckless
Specifically Taylor Momsen in the Heaven Knows video. ✝️✝️✝️
Baby Grinch - *eats the Santa plate* Santa bye bye
The dude hated Christmas since he was born 😂
I was terrified of the Grinch for a while because my family visited Universal Studios when I was a baby, and I took a picture with the character. But now it's one of my favorite movies Period.
Christmas was my favorite green creature
Meee
The Grinch says all his things came to him in the Whos' garbage -- especially their old Christmas gifts. That implies that Max the dog also came to him in the garbage, and was probably someone's unwanted Christmas gift...but the Grinch adopted him, which shows that he isn't a bad guy.
The Grinch: “Dad!! Move it!!” 😂
10:25 I genuinely thought he was going to say "fetch me their souls"
I didnt know there were issues on set with this movie, however Jim Carrey is one of my favorite comedic actors of all time, so I knew that I was gonna like this. The cartoon is my yearly Christmas tradition though.
I needed this. This is my absolute favorite Christmas movie and Jim Carrey's Grinch is one of the highlights of my childhood
Same
My son is 5 and he can already quote it haha that's how much we've watched it in this house. I've seen this sooooo many times! LOVE this movie!
There alot of scenes were Jim carry basically went off crazy the table scene was not supposed he went back to destroy the trick XD
Literally one of the best Christmas movies ever!
Okay I am not going to lie…Baby Grinch is so cute! But Baby Yoda still takes the cuteness!
Agreed
technically the grinch never hated christmas... he hated people. and thats fair.
Fun fact: Cindy Lou Who is now the lead singer of Pretty Reckless!
one of the best hard rock bands out there today!! 🔥🔥🔥
She’s a badass now!
This movie gave me Taylor Momsen… Taylor Momsen gave me The Pretty Reckless… I owe this movie SO MUCH. 💚💚💚
Now that I'm older. I never related to The Grinch so much 😂
"I suppose I could use a little...social interaction."
He’s a whole vibe and a half
Movies in Depth: Yo, Mr Grinch, it’s a little creepy, isn’t it?
Grinch: I missed the part where that’s my problem.
LMAO the accuracy
Gotta be honest first time I watched this movie. I really didn't like it. It just didn't hit me the way the original cartoon one did. But a year or so later I watched it again. Just a little Christmas puppy that someone didn't bother taking back and just up and dumped.
Favorite Christmas movie. Jim Carry really makes every character his own in every movie he takes on.
I loveeeee this movie, one of my top watch when Christmas comes around!
Dr. Seuss suffered from throat cancer and had a difficult time speaking
Fun fact: Taylor Momsen aka Cindy Lou Who is now is now the lead singer of a really successful rock band called The Pretty Reckless.
I’ve NEVER met another human that loves the grinch as much as I do, that can also quote the entire movie✨ I thought it was only me!
I really want to meet this guy in person he just looks so humble and kind ;-; you’re my hero man!
♥️♥️♥️

Jim Carrey could actually do his smile for real

*the taxi driver drives by him, leaving him momentarily stunned*
Grinch: It's because I'm *GREEN* isn't it?!
Jim Carrey could do his grin like that for real without the use of CGI
Oh my gosh the exact same thing happened to me with the sorting machine scene and now I love this movie!
THANK YOUU
Max wasn't played by just one dog in this one. He was played by 6 mixed shelter dogs. Their names were Kelly, chip, topsy, stella, Zelda, and bo :)
You are like one of my favorite TH-camrs that reacts to movies
♥️
Written by Dr. Seuss and this movie is pretty much almost exactly like the book
This is my favorite Christmas movie of all time and I can quote it word by word
This was my favorite childhood movie.
Fun fact, there's a lot of deleted scenes, like the lights show competition scene, the telescope scene, and some other 6 hours (i think) of removed scenes, some were on some home media realeses, some never saw the day of light
Such a movie like that is FABULOUS~

IM HERE FOR IT BABY!!!
It's sad that Jim Carrey had to basically go through torture for this movie, thankfully it turned out well.
The smile the Grinch does in his first scene scared me SOOOO bad as a kid I had to look away whenever he did it! 😬😂
4:26 looks like something out of a Dr Suess-like horror film. A horror movie that exists in the Dr Suessiverse
Oh, if only Amazon had a 99% off sale-I'd order the full Star Trek DS9 series, every DS9 shirt, and all four 72-marker sets of Copic Markers!
ahhh i'm so excited for this. it's my favorite christmas movie and up there with my favorite movies in general
My Favorite line of this movie
Cindy : Yo- you're - th-
The Grinch : th- the - THE GRINCH😈
Ha, one of my favorite lines is when he's flipping through the ledger of the Whos in Whoville, "Alexander Williams Who, I hate you. Amanda Daisy Who, I hate you." Finger points down over the names, "Hate, hate, hate, LOATHE ENTIRELY!" Lol. I made up the names, but it's hilarious.
Grinch!
I really love this movie too and plus I love you quoting the movie you should do that more often. :)
One of my favorite Christmas movies right up there with home alone elf and a Christmas story keep up the amazing work 👏

Omg you should watch "Klaus"(Netflix) is such a cute Christmas movie ❗
Did you know you saw Cindy Lou who in gossip girl. She plays Dan's little sister.
Whaaaaat
Everytime I watch this movie I'm reminded that the actress that played Cindy Lou is in some sort of rock band now and I think used to be known for parkouring away from paparazzi or something? idk I find it hilarious
I quote this movie so many times, that I have perfected Jim Carrey’s the Grinch voice
I love that Cindy became a rock singer
When the little girl who plays Cindy Lou is actually the lead singer of the pretty reckless amazing voice Taylor momsen.
Watch Klaus next
There was only ONE fruitcake ever made back in 1512 and its just been circulating around the world for the last few centuries, house to house. It even survived the sinking of the Titanic.
15:35 now, that’s what I called a grand theft auto whoville.

One of the best Christmas films!!
8:40 key party 😳
The Grinch put on Ron Howard's director hat
I’m literally watching this movie right now. Sooo good
"Sour cream and onion deodorant FLAVOR"
Big brains idea right here
This is the Christmas spirit. 👍🏻
🤣😃👍🏻
fun fact: Jim Carrey didnt mean to keep the dishes on the table then push it off. he accidentally did the magic trick and left. then he hw came back into frame and pushed the dishes off the table
6:35 as a kid I thought she said “it’s for the car dear”
When baby grinch eats the the plate
Santa: HO HO NOOOOO
fun fact, the actress who played cindy is a rockstar now. she's the lead singer of the pretty reckless.
Directed by Ron Paul starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch. A person who hates Christmas. So much so that the Who's drive him nuts with their constant caroling. So The Grinch decides to steal the festive holiday
Jim Carrey is such an underrated actor
Lost his tonsils twice. Pair above and the pair below.
Ah
7:28 she's on a rock band now! ! the pretty reckless
I refused to watch this until I was 15 😳
Every time my dad offered to play it during Christmas, I would run off and hide and cry 😳
not me pausing the video every 2 seconds laughing my ass off
This movie was exactly like the book written by Dr. Seuss
Jim Carrey complained about how uncomfortable the costume made him feel that director Ron Howard would do the same thing
Watch Jim Carrey's version of A Christmas Carol
Honestly, I was always on the Grinch's side. People during Christmas are entirely too happy.
if you haven't seen it, Arthur Christmas is fantastic and I love it so much
great movie
It's hard to think that Cindy is now the lead singer of a rock band.
I love watching this movie on Christmas.
Same here, bro 16:30 😂
I just gotta let you know. Whenever Jim Carrey was making any exspretions, the makeup hurt like crazy for him
