I miss Alvaro Borges. A friend of mine that introduced me to this band and to an enourmous variety of grindcore, black metal and slowcore. He died last year as a consequence of a car crash, and was one of the most sweet people (if not the most) I've ever met, so young.
Last year around this time, I used to listen to this song almost every night before going to bed. A few months ago, I totally forgot about this song and today only this song came to my mind back again. But unfortunately, I had forgotten the name of the song AND the band as well. I tried to find the song by using the words "and I CLOSED my eyes", but i failed. Then i tried to search for animated music videos with the keywords "Birds and mountains". That too failed. Only when I was about to call my search off for this song (after a couple of hours), I went to my liked videos and searched for it there and BAM! The pure joy of finding a song which you used to listen to ages ago and finally getting to know the title of it after ages. This joy can make you go to bed like a baby. :)
This song has gotten me through a great many down (and up) moments in my life, and I am on the verge of tears to know that you had lost it but managed to find it once more. I hope it still lives in your heart.
I must say, everyone of the songs by Múm are so peaceful and beautiful. I especially love "Summer will make good for all of our sins" . All of the songs by Múm make you think hard to realize the message.
I remember when I was 13 or 14 I was falling asleep and my best friend called me. "You gotta download this song". "What do you want? I am sleeping" I replied. My friend insisted I get up and download this track before I fell back asleep. I did, synced my ipod mini titanium 4gig and listened to it as I fell back asleep. Its funny how you don't realize your'e living in the good old days until they are gone.

This is the first song I had ever heard from Múm, I thank the person that showed me them 4 years ago constantly. The thing with Múm is that in a lot of their songs, it's like they are describing a beautiful environment, like you're being talked through a beautiful adventure and it makes your mind instantly wonder. Even their pure instrumental music takes you to into another world. They are so beautiful and always clench tightly at my soul.

I felt exactly like that today and then I suddenly remembered their track which I searched for after watching the trailer for The Exploding Girl. The English translation of the title was "How to Hurt your Friends". Lot of good mornings started with these tracks.

This song haunts me in my dreams and when I daydream, calling me to pull away from reality and wander through the hallways of my subconscious mind. You can not listen to this without it becoming a part of you forever. It reminds me of when I lived right on the beach in Kye bay, Vancouver Island, BC. Where I spent the most magical years of my life.

Múm has made me finally realize that I have to make my dream of getting to know Iceland come true. I have to work for it. So this dream of mine is from this second on, a plan. Sarting on the 10th of January, when I'll be coming back from my holidays, I'm going to start saving money. It'll probably take me about two years to save enough for the plane tickets, accomodation and everything else, but I'm gonna do it. It's a promise I'm making myself right now. If anyone wants to join me in this dream, they'll be welcome!

This is what makes icelandic music, they have very little culture of there own, because of almost the shear darkness an obscurity of the island. It is until only very recently they have been able to create art and music. This experimentation is what makes icelandic music so unique and to many people, so beautiful.
I listen to this song on repeat every morning when I wake up and do my yoga, it is amazing (after I fall asleep listening to Sigur Ros). Everything about this song and video is so beautiful and thoughtfully and carefully executed.

i was flying to berlin last spring, and i just turned on this song. it was a lufthansa flight, and they had shut off the lights in order to allow everyone to rest. I cant sleep on airplanes, so i was one of the only ones awake, and the only one awake in my section. I stared at everything, and i just started getting teary, and it was just such a deep moment and one of the most profound that i've ever had. funny how a song can do that to you

I saw them recently in Canada and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. The band is not hard on the eyes either. Good times!
