Makes me wonder if it's a license or contract thing. Can only take place in Dark Fate because, at the start of this game's development, Dark Fate was about to come out. They got stuck with it. Also that the Terminator: Resistance already got the license to make a game set within the T1-T2 films. Honestly, after finishing this game, this feels more like what Terminator: Salvation should've been.
asked the devs, its a license thing. They got the license for the dark fate timeline because the game started developing before the movie itself got released. @@Razgriz_01
@@jayceneal5273 honestly that type of rts would be dope to have resistance troops using retrofits of old military equipment and vehicles fighting skynet (which would actually make the war against the machines more believable)
I'm guess the person writing this video never watched Dark Fate. Yes its a horrible movie and easily IMO the worst in the Terminator franchise but if you're going to talk about the story of a game set in the Dark Fate timeline you need to understand the basics of the timeline and the differences between it and the various other Terminator timelines. The movies have at least seven timelines involved now, the TV series had two, and probably more different timelines in play, the novels cover at least six timelines distinct from the various onscreen timelines I can think off off the top of my head, and the earlier console and PC games show several new Terminator timelines.. And I honestly have no idea how many new timelines the comics added to the mix.
Sounded more like a promotional video then a review... You didn't call out a single issue. And it's not Skynet, your missing the entire story even you even played because it's called legion. This is NOT the Terminator universe, its the Dark Fate universe. How about the horrible mission design or the garbage AI? What about if you lose a single soldier needed for a specific purpose and lose that soldier within the first five minutes of a mission which you won't realize until an hour in, that you lost the mission when you lost the soldier in the first 5 minutes? What about when you have a huge army and the story kills it for a story beat or cinematic? What game did you play?
It sounds like it was a challenging game. RTS games regularly kill off your entire army between missions. See also every mission in Red Alert or Starcraft. They never let you carry army's thru campaign missions. And they will let you kill your last engineer and have no money and lose your primary base without an auto fail unless its an escort mission. I'm not attacking you I'm just lost as to what were you expecting in an RTS game. A.i. always sucks hot keys and squad assignments are your friends.
@@steveparrisplay the game. There is not a single mission in Red Alert where if you loose a specific unit, you cannot complete the mission. And again, because of the way missions are designed, you don't discover that until the mission is almost over and you've wasted an hour. And Red Alert came out over 20 years ago. There are plenty of RTS games that have great AI. Go watch a review that is actually objective and critical. And not critical as in negative, but as in critique the game.
They could've simply name it terminator: defiance rather than terminator: dark fate - defiance.

Not really, because people would be expecting it to be about the skynet timeline if it was named as such

Its a great game. The level of difficulty really makes it great. No room for error
Silky smooth 24fps
This game isn’t perfect but it’s a lot a fun.
a pretty great idea for a terminator game to ne honest
It’s extremely funny to me how many people are angry simply because of the “dark fate” title applied to the games title.
Is there a reason the audio sounds like it was recorded with a Panasonic Flip Phone from before 2010?
Definitely not indicative of the actual game. I found the audio to be great.

Nice review!!
AA is the best these days. With all the lousy big studios doing crappy live service and/or boring open world, it's nice to see some experimentation.

You had this long ass rant yet you didn’t dislike the video …..
That's because it is. If you haven't figured out most large channels are just there to promote crap idk what to tell you. This channel is obvious.
You got filtered by the game

It's a great game. It just lacks content and feels like they're only giving us 25% of the game
Cue Dennis Hopper in Waterworld meme.
It DOES look like shit.
Pc only ?
Of course.
