As a youth (in the 1970s), I really loved the twang and reverb of "Surf" music, but sometimes found that the manic happiness grew tiresome. This "Surf-Goth" adds some darker elements that reminds me of 1980s New Wave. I love it when a musician fuses seemingly incompatible genres into something that is at the same time new, and retro. This artist will now find a place in my playlists.
@DesmondDoom he's got a spot in my 80's Goth music Playlist already. 😊 "sing like an evil David Bowie" sent me here. Loved that as well since I'm a huge bauhaus fan. ❤️
I first stumbled upon his "If Joy Division wrote 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins" video and was amazed at how great it was. But this is will be looked at as a key moment in music history. Such a wonderful EP I love every song
The Cure and Joy Division vibe big time. Morrisey in there as well. I'm not really into labels, this just reminds me of the music I listened to back in the late 70s and 80s and still do, good stuff.

Its like a cross between Bauhaus and The Sound, Joy Division bass, and a touch of The Cure. And the sound quality is amazing, sounds like a major record company produced it. Its like it was actually released in 1980. This is the greatest thing Ive heard in modern music.
Very good Ep for sure but Please wait the end of this decade to affirm this kind of Bullshit ! 😁 I love Joy Division but for me he’s certainly not the best of the 70’s! Too simplistic statement! Concerning Music try to avoid building Churches ! 😁
My biggest gripe with post punk and goth rock is there isn't enough of it. I've always wanted to start a band that sounds like this, I'm glad that somebody in 2022 actually did it!
There's actually a surprising amount of it around, both new and old, if you take the time to look for it. Some of it is even good :-) If you want a top-notch post punk recommendation (from 2014, but clearly inspired by Joy Division, The Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol and Siouxsie and the Banshees), then check out the album _Must Exist,_ from Nicole Sabouné.
