A query, albeit unrelated to the much-discussed thread: While one fully acknowledges Vikrant's prerogative to embark upon a well-deserved hiatus-an entirely personal and legitimate decision-one cannot help but muse on the timing of his proclamation. Was it truly imperative to unveil such an announcement at this juncture? Could it not have been judiciously deferred until his cinematic endeavor had run its commercial course? This is not to cast aspersions on the authenticity of his intent to take a break, but the coincidence of this revelation with the promotional cycle of his forthcoming projects seems conspicuously advantageous, almost as though it were a strategic confluence rather than a serendipitous alignment.
Hey anmol...Will you please make a video on " How amazing and versatile Urmila Matondkar was...And her amazing filmography, style statement, Dance and legendary acting...There should be a dedicated video on her
Burn out is real, tbh. He is very much entitled to take a break, but the sad thing is perhaps his stardom may not be as great as it is today. The audience, the industry is truly fickle. I do hope he gets the same love when he comes back.
As a woman, there's nothing wrong with choosing raising your children over any career, if you feel this is where your gifts are best spent and that's what you want to do. There's also nothing wrong with taking a break and going back to work once kids go to school. It's only wrong if you do it because you feel forced to do so, and/or your husband doesn't appreciate your input into society (whether raising kids or working), and/or he wants you to quit something you're passionate about to be his personal servant. As long as it's your choice and you're happy with it, it's all good.
It’s quite ironic that these so-called “liberators” demand women to perform for their amusement, be it through dance or acting. Yet, when these women choose to step away from the spotlight to focus on their families or pursue their faith, these so-called "woke" advocates suddenly become distressed. They cry out, "No, no! Women must juggle both motherhood and their roles as entertainers for our pleasure." This reveals a shocking level of selfishness and hypocrisy. These individuals push a narrative that objectifies women under the guise of empowerment, while ignoring the harsh realities that many women face in balancing personal lives with such demanding careers. It’s a thinly veiled propaganda that dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries during the Industrial Revolution, when industries desperately needed more workers. Back then, the narrative was spun to convince women that they could find freedom in the workforce instead of being nurtured at home as queens, supported by their husbands. The truth is, this relentless push for women to conform to an unrealistic dual role is nothing short of exploitative. It’s time to recognize that true freedom allows women to choose their paths, whether that means focusing on religion or devoting themselves to their families. The agenda to objectify women as mere entertainers is not liberation; it’s a betrayal of the very principles of respect and choice that the feminist movement claims to champion.
Asin 's first passion was never movies. She always loved business and even got an award for the young entrepreneur... something like that. She did modeling just like a hobbie and by chance got into movies. . That is why when things felt right, she married a businessman. She is very much involved in his work and doing something she likes.
she has completely isolated herself from any type of screen presence she hardly has any podcast or interview, not coming to bollywood events or parties or award functions and rarely posts on her instagram or other socials (compared to others like genelia or ayesha takia who are quite active on social media or attend functions sometimes) it feels like ages since i last saw her
It’s not egoistical for a person to take a break for their mental, physical or emotional health. I understand the next statement that it is a fallacy to expect to retain same position in the film industry after few years gap. But health is everything, rest comes after it. We only have one body in the end, nothing can replace it.
@@lizmol-san fully agree! I think Amitabh was simply talking about this aspect of going on a break and expecting to come back to the same place and be welcomed with open arms as egotistical, as thinking yourself so big even missing a couple of years won't shake you - and we know he was speaking from own bitter experience. So absolutely, health should come first. But also you have to realise decisions come with consequences (and it's still ok, because it's better to be happy than successful).
Glory jobs and normal jobs are different beasts. Glory jobs : everyone is trying to get in. Be it actors/models/journalists/cricketers etc. You take a break and everything is gone.
Enough of bollywood celebrities quitting acting in their prime - can we just talk about why jammy is not posting more dance routines in his prime? dude why are you going for hrithik roshan route - we want our old anmol back.
One thing that suprised me was that Kajol was one of the most popular/loved actresses in the 2000s but looking at her filmography, she only had 3 releases in the span of 2001-2009 and one of them was a home production. She was like Anushka and had said she wanted a family early on. If I'm not wrong, she may be one of the only actresses who was able to take a break and come back successfully. i find that more courageous than continuously working and getting scared of losing out projects (which is what i felt kareena was scared of)
@@yashaswinikrishnan1878 Maybe, but she didn't use them for her comeback. She was supposed to comeback with KANK which would have been safer for her bc her pairing with SRK in a KJo film would be a guaranteed hit. But she rejected it and had her comeback with Fanaa with Aamir whose pairing with her was new and risky.
To be honest, Kajol was and still isnt a good actress. But her connections with KJo and SRK early on has helped keep her still popular enough and relevant today. Smart woman! Her cousin, Rani though is a phenomenal actress. And today with her marrying into the Chopra khandaan helps her too i suppose.
@@jow345 Yes, Fanaa was her comeback film and it was a huge hit at box office. Other actresses didn't have good comebacks like Madhuri's Aaja Nachle flopped, Preity Zinta's Ishqk in Paris flopped, Karisma Kapoor's Dangerous Ishhq flopped etc.
I heard the same about Kajol. She chose to get married right after 1998 when she gave hits like Pyar kiya to darna kya and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and barely did films. K3G was a huge hit but after that she decided leave the industry maybe permanently. That made her lose out on projects like Mohabattein, Veer Zara, Chalte Chalte, Gadar, KANK, all which she rejected mainly bc of her marriage or baby. She was gone for 5 years but she came back strong with Fanaa. A lot of actresses do "comeback films" but most aren't that successful. But I think most women do want to take the maternity leave when they have a baby and that makes them ahrd to come back.
i have great admiration for vikrant massey for quitting while hes ahead. its obvious he made a substantial amount as a tv actor and he is comfortable enough
In the 90s and earlier, women didn't necessarily leave because they wanted to focus on their family but that they didn't have a career anymore. It was understood that the audience would not be interested in a married woman playing the hero's love interest. And in some cases, if she married into a more prestigious family, it would be a disgrace to the husband's family for the wife to work (like they couldn't support her) and especially as the female lead (dancing in revealing clothes). It was a huge achievement for us as a society when women were able to continue to draw audiences even after they got married and had kids.
Amitabh is against breaks because he did take a sabbatical in the 90s to recalibrate his life and career. He went to London.. and whenever anyone would recognize him there, he'd leave the place asap. By the time he came back, industry had changed completely.. He faced dark times with ABCL and the failing films... of course, history would be made in the year 2000 when he came back with KBC and Mohabbatein... but we are talking about Amitabh Bachchan here.. not everyone who takes the gamble of a break, gets the desired returns..
He also went into Politics which became a huge issue since he was part of the Sikh Genocide. Expect instead of protecting, he was instigating people to attack them.
I am pretty sure it's something to do with the Libturds attacking him for his latest movie. Saw Sucharita and Arfa's tweet. They are so desperate for attention. Gosh.
For me the most justified and worth break out was of "SRIDEVI'S" from 1997(Judai) till 2012, untill she bangs her comeback with the iconic masterpieces like English vinglish (2012) and MOM (2016)
Yep, she was working since the age of 3. That break was very well deserved and much needed. She had already achieved a top position in both north and south industries and there was nothing left to prove.
Asin quitting at peak, still unbelievable as she had all traits of pan India star. Even Thalapathy Vijay, he's literally critics proof. Would have loved a Leo 2
When you rewatch KWK and look at the old blinds, it’s clear that KJO and Co tried to bully her too Ekta Kapoor called « Ass » in. Anushka called her « A » sin Mukesh Bhatt made statements like: Asin has no future in Bollywood. There were so many blinds claiming that she has a body odor problem. Given the toxicity, no wonder she decided to leave
5:26 Nutan is also a few actresses who, after marriage, worked till her death, giving hits in the 50s 60s and 70s and character roles in the 80s until her death 1991
Hey! Just wanted to say that this new way of posting listicles is really great. Building so much context before the video starts and then relating every person in the list to the context established is way more engaging than just listing out top 10 actors who left acting at their prime.

8:40 Somehow, no one tells male actors how they handle their home life and work life. If I’m an interviewer, I do want to ask that question and do an elaborate statistical analysis.
The 2000s was really a brilliant year for Bollywood even underrated actresses like Asin, Ayesha, Sushmita and so many more it truly captures how much of a talent they had its sad they quitted films so early
They earned enough just in a few years to survive for their whole life without going daily to do 9-5 jobs all their lives so there is no need to exaggerate things about their quitting or taking break by people. They had more luxurious life than all of us. People worry to much about an actor or actress careers then their own careers 🙇
Trivia about Asin: 22 films out of 25 were hits 😢 Definitely not the nostalgia whining about her Asin was such a talented actress... She was a huge star in south 2003-2008 👑 The plus point about her was she used to dub her films unlike her contemporaries... Then she forayed to bollywood Sticked to commercial format delivered hits mostly then took retirement in 2013 only just for the sake of a 25th film she did a film with Abhishek (2015) and never came back😢 Asin was offered Barfi (both the roles) aparichit, bachana ae haseeno, delhi 6, singham, wanted, lootera, Karthik calling karthik, de Dana dan, welcome back, raabata 🥲 She was a choice for Chennai express, raone, 2 states opposite srk😢 She refused many Mohit Suri films which were hits that's why mukesh bhatt badmouthed her openly 😑
Asin created a wave and no doubt she ruled the south industry . But Is she a good actress no. Did she succeed in Bollywood ? No . She didn’t get much opportunity it was all commercial movies but her acting was very bad in those. She could have gone back to south may be .
I am surprised you did not mention - 'Sridevi', when she chose to stop signing films after 1997 with her last film, a hit - Judaai. She was pretty much top in 1990s too with hits like - Laadla, Gumrah, Khuda Gawah, Banjaaran. Yash Chopra had a film in mind with Sridevi and Amitabh but since she was not ready to shoot with Janhvi just born, the project never took off. 15 years later came back with a commercial and critical success and everyone's favorite English Vinglish
Zaira Wasim was such a talented actress. She achieved accolades a kid at her age couldn't even dream off. National award, Massive International hits, oh man.
(1:00) He never said "long break". It's clearly written in his post that the 2 movies will be his "last 2 movies". And now he's saying that his words were "misinterpreted". I'm a fan of his acting since Balika Vadu and i don't wanna sound like a hater but this clearly looks like a PR stunt, attention-seeking move. So weird. (2:30-4:03) okayyy...i agree
Your lack of reading comprehension skills does not make Vikrant an attention-seeker. He had clearly written these would be his last two movies till the time was deemed right. That indicates a break and not retirement. Maybe read the entire thing before writing rubbish on the internet next time.
I don't know if this woman comes in that list, she's Udita Goswami somewhere in mid 2000s was her career mostly with emaraan hashmi, anyway I suddenly remembered for this episode. She's DJ nowadays. My crush then ☺👉👈👉👈
I love Vikrant. And he is absolutely allowed to do what he wants. I don’t think there is a need to make an announcement like this. You just don’t do a movie until you are ready. No need to make big deal out of these things. Then there will be a big deal when he does a movie because that will be his comeback movie.
niqqa literally forgot Madhuri Dixit. She quit films at the surreal peak of her career. a peak many actress would despise off. she decided to get married and have kids, even left our country.
The fact that people in the movie business can just “take a break” is a privilege most people dream of. Leaving your job for an extended period will not only bring financial risk but also a big blow to your prospects when you return
The dumb us dont realize that someone like Vikrant is also a working person (acting is also a job) and kudos to him that he can take sabbatical , we all can just think about such stuffs and we cannot since its not financially feasible for us So burnt out is true , we all face it , but we live with it coz we cannot financially afford it , BUT HE can and he did
I'd say Sharmila Tagore was the trailblazer. She was working right after getting married💍, having Saif. Pataudi family, being the elite and regal one, has always been supportive of their women in the showbiz... So before Kareena, it was Sharmila, her MIL
SRK and PRABHAS really defined all odds by disappearing for 4-5years and coming with a banger it was very tough for srk but also for prabhas cause he had a industry hit with mirchi and just vanished 😂 these two aren't scared of shit
People who quit acting at the prime are the ones who... 1. Are satisfied with the money they have 2. Want an escape from stardom as its very anxiety inducing to an introvert 3. Who see acting as a job rather than a craft or art after some stardom Its ok to quit acting, but I agree with Amitabh ji. Once you quit, you can't expect your past stardom to give new projects in future
I think that Imran quit movies, because no leading actress wanted to work with him. Katrina and Deepika refused to do Katti Batti with him, they demanded that he would be replaced (after working with him previously). When leading actresses don't want to work with you, it becomes really painful.
@@Indroniel why didn't they want to work with him? Just because he was boxoffice repellant, or was he difficult on set? (Frankly, I think both of these things more or less would just force one to quit. I don't think he was particularly at his peak at the time)
Asin left because she was on the path of being irrelevant Sure she had a glorious run in tamil and a fantastic debut in bollywood but she pretty much fizzled out by the mid 2010s. She had lost a lot of goodwill with the tamil people due to her Sri Lanka visit and bollywood didn't exactly warm upto her. Her only saving grace was Ghajini which was a remake of her successful film. She realized the best way to go about it to ties the knot with a rich guy.
Kareena is not actually an ideal example for this topic. She was able to maintain multiple roles due to her equation with the industry people Let me give you an example. This is a story which Kareena shared with Taran Adarsh in his show When Amir offered Kareena Talash, she was already signed for dharma movie with Imran khan and Salman’s bodyguard. Kareena decided that she wants to do all 3 movies. So her Secretary went to Karan Johar and Salman’s brother in law Atul. He requested both of them to postpone the movie shooting for a month or two. Due to her status in the industry and good equation with both, Karan and atul gladly gave her a two months time period. So she finished talash comfortably and then started doing the other two films as promised So long story short, she always benefited from her equation with big producers. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that. She’s also a very sharp woman. But using her as an example in the video is unfair imo
Yes correct. But the reason why her name is mentioned in the video is different. She did not take a break post her kids is what is being emphasized. She was not married when she did Talash and Bodyguard.
@ you took my comment too literally. It was an example. My point is that the big producers worked around her schedule and made accommodations for her. I’m sure she’s getting the same treatment post motherhood. That’s why she didn’t have to take a break. Other female actors don’t have that luxury
This is a list of people who quit in their PRIME, so they probably could've received some accomodations to continue their careers if they wanted to, just maybe not as much as the most popular leading lady of 2010s.
I believe that Gayatri Joshi from Swades deserves an honorable mention, even though she wasn't at the peak of her career. It was her debut movie, and she was an excellent co-lead alongside SRK. She had so much potential, but she chose to leave the industry to focus on her family. While that decision is respectable, I can't help but wonder how far she could have gone if she had continued her acting career
Bro you should explore more topics and style of content for videos, like talking about best cinematographies in the films, best action set pieces in the films or talking about random niche scenes.
Then it will be another watchmojo video, their best action scenes videos are a whole playlist on their own.. Another playlist is of how celebrities ruined their career in second or one small mistake
While Mr. Bachchan is right about position afterwords not being the same. Calling it 'egoistic' is being dismissive of others' circumstances. SRK, Amir, Sridevi, Madhuri, etc. taking breaks are different. Everyone's circumstances and positions are different, therefore making 'taking a break' a Case-based Decision Making Process, dependent on individuals and their situation (as you explain). And sometimes, taking a break is what is exactly needed, I mean..... Ask Akshay Kumar
Jack Gleeson, who played Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones, comes to mind when I see this video. He was just 19 and had an incredible range ,was the most hated character on TV. I really wanted to see him in more projects, but I respect his choice to quit acting for personal reasons
Leo sequel would never happen and he will never appear in LCU if thalapathy vijay never comes back to act again. I'll be back with more disturbing facts.
Suddenly and Madhuri did not quit when they were at their peak. In fact they had a good run being at the top for a long time. Then they decided to make their homes. Aisi by then other young actors cropped in and were making waves.
I don't think that Bollywood has been a kind place towards women or ever offered a healthy/safe work environment to them. So falling out of love with acting or prioritising family can be strong enough reasons for sure, but I feel that lack of strong female parts or undervaluing actresses is a stronger reason due to which they feel insecure or unsafe especially in the older times. Things are changing now for sure in terms of employment but Bollywood takes a huge toll on the mental health of actresses particularly
Why do we judge people based on their choices for profession. Many people get exhausted working and take early retirement. I myself in corporate life want to retire and not work at all if I have enough money to survive my retirement. Sometimes the work becomes exhaustive and toxic. It is better to change profession or do something that interests more. It is called CHOICE.
I think probably Meenakshi Seshadri, Tina Munim and the one you probably forgotten was Amitabh Bachchan back in 1992, who I remember was reported to have "retired" from movies and I can still see a video on TH-cam where SRK, Sunil Shetty, Govinda and Juhi Chawla were talking about their shock.
@ When asked about the reaction of the ruling authorities on that issue, he’s suddenly mum. It’s easy to say “Oh, he’s speaking the truth.” and “This is free speech.” and it’s anything but. The crux of the issue is that the situation wasn’t contained by those in power and there was a pogrom against Muslim communities that was used as a distraction to cover up the inadequacies of a sloppy establishment.
@@PokhrajRoy. The actual crux of the issue is that the riots happened due to provocation by Muslim community which had burnt innocent Hindus in a train. That is the only truth. All these pogroms stories etc are just fictional. It was a sequence of long provocation of Hindus with Ajmer rape case, Kashmiri Hindu genocide, kar sevaks firing etc. Looking at events in isolation is puerile
One reason for so many actresses quitting after a point could be the exhaustion of working in multiple movies across languages within a short span of time. While a major actor may do a movie or two, a ‘hit’ actress gets to act in 2-3 or more movies per language within an year. So an actress like Trisha might have acted in multiple movies in Telugu, Tamil and may be Malayalam within a single year. Considering the short life of acting, they too keep taking up more and more of movies to act in. It all ends up in a burnout like situation when they decide, “that’s it. I have done enough. Now it’s time to wrap up”.
I think its high time that we start normalizing the fact that Actors are allowed to take breaks. Acting is just a job. There is more to life than acting . And clearly Vikrant's post was about a break . I dont how people misinterpreted it to retirement . He clearly mentioned in the post "until the time is right" that means he will be back someday.
It is not just Karina Kapoor, most of them do juggle between their work, family and personal life. Why should we highlight or praise these actors when they do same thing as majority? More over, they have lot more help which money can buy. I think we should stop celebrating actors and consider them as an employee who cares only about their income.
Giving this much attention to what's going on in actors and actresses' personal lives showcase the sheer joblessness of people on social media. Amongst all the glamour and glitz, everybody forgets that they are human beings too. Just allow them the right to their privacy and move on with your life!! P.s. I know why you made this video Jammy and there's valid points in it that people need to hear but this felt kind of unnecessary. Looking forward to your next video and also, 2025 has the most insane line up in many years!! So pumped for them!!🤩🔥
Malayalam film industry. * Parvathy - Married to Jayaram at the peak of her career as lead actress and quit acting. 70 movies within 5 years. Averaging more than one movie a month😃. I don't think so none of the actress mentioned above had such a career and left it all after the marriage Manju Warrier - Married Dileep and quit acting when she was the lead pair for most actors. Although she came back after a long hiatus. 19 movies within 4 years. Samyooktha Verma: Married to Biju Menon at the peak of her career and quit acting. 18 movies in 4 years Samvrutha Sunil: She was constantly featured as a lead pair in commercially successful movies but quit acting after her marriage in 2012. Although returned back in 2018 for a movie but never to be seen again thereafter. 45 movies in 8 years and the year when she married had 8 realeases mostly as lead actress
For vibrant, this might not be the case. But I recently heard from a raj shamani podcast -a TH-cam creator said"Humhe reel banane ke liye brain surgeon se jyada paisa mil raha hai" & he further added"Nowadays, attention is like the GOLD & Diamond " Everyone wants attention. Many people are doing horrible things for attention. Instagram has become a Thirst Trap. Everything is about getting attention now.
Asin is a quintessional Indian beauty and highly talented. Hope she will make a return one day. Been a fan since M.Kumaran S/O Mahalaksmi days. For me the only actress right now who has that aura, talent and natural beauty is Mrunal Thakur.
I am glad that Anushka Sharma has quit Bollywood. She was not a versatile actor in the first place, always playing the outspoken, bubbly girl next door type roles. Apart from NH10 and Sultan (to some extent), her acting career was not very impressive.
I just hope Vijay doesn’t end up as young Big B with switching his career choice by garnering his fame for stepping in politics.🖤 I do hope nothing bad for him but even if he succeeds, I would just love ti see some glimpses of him in movies now and then,
Amitabh entered politics for his friend Rajiv Gandhi.. it was an emotional decision. Of course, he quit within 2-3 years, when he realized it wasn't his cup of tea.
I'll just say it, take a break WITHOUT announcing it to the rest of the world. The only reason for celebs to make such announcements is their need and greed for attention and validation or publicity for their underperforming movies like Sabarmati. Sridevi, Tabu, Amrita Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, even Dilip Kumar, and others have all taken breaks and QUIETLY at that. It was fine. Vikrant announcing it is indicative of the fact that he thinks he's a bigger star than he actually is. He is a brilliant actor, no doubt, but a people's star he is NOT.
When you are privileged you take a break and you put it on social media And now everyone is talking about vikrant People are working hard everywhere be it a superstar , cricketer, trader and everyone No 1 takes a break by putting on social media Vikrant could have just stayed away from limelight no1 stops working Vikrant is just trying to get noticed There lot of actors who aren't working at all but still are doing something No1 takes a break from work I heard an akshay kumar interview where he said kaam aa raha hai karte raho nd we still blame Akshay saying Thora kaam Kum kar People are sceptical and have something to say on everything and vikrant has just made people talk about him now He needed a break he could have taken it ..there are lot of actors around people will forget him if he says that I'm tired and stuff like that What Akshay has said is amazing kaam aa raha hai izzat karo aur karte raho .. Even Akshay takes breaks and works so much people are just trying to get noticed
There is a difference between taking a break from a career n exploring other avenues. Anything other than that is denouncing everything and revenging. We have seen several actors become entrepreneurs which is an easy way if you have the fame and capital. I hope we will see them taking other professional and risky avenues in coming generations. One avenue can be getting lost in oblivion.
I find it funny that when people talk about Imran Khan they can only think of 4/5 films where he played the same role and forget the back to back duds he had in mid 2010s... if he was still continuing, people would've been tired of him before the decade had ended and labeled him as a "talentless nepo kid"
Topic of discussion has gone for a toss because of this bloody thread 😂😂
you should thank god it was a thread otherwise 'log bohot baatein banaate'.
itti editing kebaad bhi it made it through to the video jammy bhai ye to saaf saaf planted that
A query, albeit unrelated to the much-discussed thread: While one fully acknowledges Vikrant's prerogative to embark upon a well-deserved hiatus-an entirely personal and legitimate decision-one cannot help but muse on the timing of his proclamation.

Fully agree.
Couldn't have worded it better myself, and I'm a social justice warrior :P
It shouldn’t be about women or man should be count same for man too. If they want to stay at home and take care it should be fine too
100% that’s why I also preface with each example, these are adults making adult decisions. Each to their own indeed
Women must juggle both motherhood and their roles as entertainers for our pleasure."
This reveals a shocking level of selfishness and hypocrisy.

Yes
She's from kochi kerala
And I've heard that her father was a bussiness man
Her fam was well in being business in Kochi
Thats a little sad to know tbh. I always felt she uplifted the movies she appeared in.
She was very fond of. Movies and acting. Her father arranged that role by persuading director sathyan anthikkad in malayalam film.
she has completely isolated herself from any type of screen presence
she hardly has any podcast or interview, not coming to bollywood events or parties or award functions and rarely posts on her instagram or other socials (compared to others like genelia or ayesha takia who are quite active on social media or attend functions sometimes)

She left coz she became a coke head buddy.
wasn't that due to the underworld relations she had? or something like that?
Her movies were not performing well, one recent movie of her I remember watching is Bhaiyaji Superhit
@nezukochanfan9795 Yes you are right
Nothing wrong in taking a break or calling it quits.. every person is different.. priorities change from time to time.

If I'm not wrong, she may be one of the only actresses who was able to take a break and come back successfully. i find that more courageous than continuously working and getting scared of losing out projects (which is what i felt kareena was scared of)
having tight connections certainly helped, her friendship with srk and kjo especially
Come back successfully? Dont think so..
The Kapoor family is notorious for not letting the women in the family work. Even the girls born like Karishma didn’t get much support!
@jessierose5319 You should start writing novels.
Hearing about Vikrant's retirement while he was working with Shanaya was something...
Please read his latest statement, he needs a long break not retiring
I am pretty sure it's something to do with the Libturds attacking him for his latest movie. Saw Sucharita and Arfa's tweet. They are so desperate for attention. Gosh.
For me the most justified and worth break out was of "SRIDEVI'S" from 1997(Judai) till 2012, untill she bangs her comeback with the iconic masterpieces like English vinglish (2012) and MOM (2016)
bro forgot to include the critically acclaimed oscar winning movie - puli (tamil)
Mom came in 2017
Yep, she was working since the age of 3. That break was very well deserved and much needed. She had already achieved a top position in both north and south industries and there was nothing left to prove.
Asin quitting at peak, still unbelievable as she had all traits of pan India star.

Hey! Just wanted to say that this new way of posting listicles is really great. Building so much context before the video starts and then relating every person in the list to the context established is way more engaging than just listing out top 10 actors who left acting at their prime.
Man my heart still breaks for Zaira Wasim. Miss seeing her on screen ever since Secret Superstar and the Sky is Pink.
Well she made that choice of quitting acting career when she was at the peak of her game. No need to feel bad for her..
Women must juggle both motherhood and their roles as entertainers for our pleasure."
This reveals a shocking level of selfishness and hypocrisy.

Trivia about Asin:
22 films out of 25 were hits 😢
Definitely not the nostalgia whining about her
Asin was such a talented actress...
She was a huge star in south 2003-2008 👑
The plus point about her was she used to dub her films unlike her contemporaries...
Then she forayed to bollywood
Sticked to commercial format delivered hits mostly then took retirement in 2013 only just for the sake of a 25th film she did a film with Abhishek (2015) and never came back😢
Asin was offered Barfi (both the roles)
aparichit, bachana ae haseeno, delhi 6, singham, wanted, lootera, Karthik calling karthik, de Dana dan, welcome back, raabata 🥲
She was a choice for Chennai express, raone, 2 states opposite srk😢

He has written recalibrate and go back home …….and until time deems right . !
Your lack of reading comprehension skills does not make Vikrant an attention-seeker. He had clearly written these would be his last two movies till the time was deemed right. That indicates a break and not retirement. Maybe read the entire thing before writing rubbish on the internet next time.

niqqa literally forgot Madhuri Dixit.
The dumb us dont realize that someone like Vikrant is also a working person (acting is also a job)

So burnt out is true , we all face it , but we live with it coz we cannot financially afford it , BUT HE can and he did

SRK and PRABHAS really defined all odds by disappearing for 4-5years and coming with a banger it was very tough for srk but also for prabhas cause he had a industry hit with mirchi and just vanished 😂 these two aren't scared of shit
People who quit acting at the prime are the ones who...
1. Are satisfied with the money they have
2. Want an escape from stardom as its very anxiety inducing to an introvert
3. Who see acting as a job rather than a craft or art after some stardom
Its ok to quit acting, but I agree with Amitabh ji.
I don't think he was particularly at his peak at the time)
Neetu was forced to give up. Kapoor men were against their wives working.
Asin left because she was on the path of being irrelevant Sure she had a glorious run in tamil and a fantastic debut in bollywood but she pretty much fizzled out by the mid 2010s. Kareena is not actually an ideal example for this topic. She was able to maintain multiple roles due to her equation with the industry people
Let me give you an example. This is a story which Kareena shared with Taran Adarsh in his show
When Amir offered Kareena Talash, she was already signed for dharma movie with Imran khan and Salman’s bodyguard.
So she finished talash comfortably and then started doing the other two films as promised
So long story short, she always benefited from her equation with big producers.
Zaira Wassim is the most heartbreaking tale
I believe that Gayatri Joshi from Swades deserves an honorable mention, even though she wasn't at the peak of her career. It was her debut movie, and she was an excellent co-lead alongside SRK. She had so much potential, but she chose to leave the industry to focus on her family. While that decision is respectable, I can't help but wonder how far she could have gone if she had continued her acting career
Aa always, this was another insightful well meaning take on leavers. All deserve to live the life they desire ❤

Yup

You forgot Madhuri Dixit.
Madhuri didnt leave at her peak. Her peak as a romantic lead was over by mid / late 90s
I loved zaira on screen. The sky is pink, secret superstar are so great because of her heartfelt acting, rewatch worthy actress.
It is not just Karina Kapoor, most of them do juggle between their work, family and personal life. Why should we highlight or praise these actors when they do same thing as majority? More over, they have lot more help which money can buy. I think we should stop celebrating actors and consider them as an employee who cares only about their income.

I'll just say it, take a break WITHOUT announcing it to the rest of the world.

Sometimes its better if actors refrain from making political statements. And in Vikrants case he dint even have a clear stance.
