I'm watching season 4 now and they seem not so close like they were before to me. Maybe because hinata felt hurt that he wasn't chosen to the camp of the best like Kageyama was. But I think he tried to make up for it. When he asked kageyama on new years if he wanted to join him going to a shrine and when the answer was "no" he threw his phone away. In the end they did meet but only because Kageyama came by from jogging. I hope they will get closer again
kageyama said “no” because he was jogging, which is volleyball practice for him hence it comes first and foremost. when he was done jogging he had no issues to join hinata and play along with him, nishinoya and tanaka, don’t over think too much about it and their relationship is still the same. after kageyama was invited to the u19 camp he kept practicing every day with hinata to help him getting better at receiving even the night before kageyama had to leave; at the actual camp kageyama uses hoshiumi as reference for hinata and then as soon as he gets back to karasuno he teaches him how to jump higher + or can we talk about when he set a freak quick at the camp because he got so excited he thought hinata was there with him? not to mention the re-crowning scene, hinata understanding perfectly how kageyama felt, showing it to the rest of karasuno and basically told him ‘you’re okay the way you just are’ and so much more...

For me, if you ship them romantically, just my opinion, kageyama loves hinata more. Tobio always make sure that hinata is on top of his game. The soft moments they had, before they played with shiratorizawa, that fist bump, when they both comeback with their trainings, kags being a proud team mate to hinata, kageyama saying that hinata can fly higher, the fact that he always toss to hinata without worrying over anything, the amount of trust also. He changed because of the team, but mostly because of hinata. The bond they have will always be an important lesson to me when it comes to friendships.

Will everyone stop hating on this ship please. I beg of you. They're like, soulmates, seriously. In both romantic and platonic ways, they make each other better. I don't care if you ship them romantically like I do or platonically as friends(best friends, not just friends), but you cannot disagree that they are indeed soulmates and were made for each other. If you still think we are sexualizing friendship, then I have no idea how to deal with you, I am done with you. We ship them because they have proved multiple times that they are dependent on each other and with each other's company, they are invincible. This is the best frickin ship ever in any senses and you cannot convince me otherwise.
