The first time I heard this song my 9 year old son kept listening to it on repeat I couldn't understand why as its such an emotional song then I realised he was thinking about his dad had who left 💔
That piano accompaniment is just So perfect. Just as emotional as Lewis' vocals. This song is about his break up with Paige Turley, who changed her looks almost totally and ended up on Love Island !!

I love Lewis Capaldi's voice & think he sounds slightly better. Maybe I'm wrong, it's just my opinion.
He wrote this song after his grandmother passed away. It’s not about an ex gf its about his grandma 😢

English from the UK. Pretty sure it's scouse (Liverpool) accent.
Believe it or not in little old uk we have few hundred different accents, that all sound different. Cultured ,British ,ppl, could tell few dozen apart easy and even we have some difficulty following the extreme one's.

They are, very clearly, Liverpudlian. What is known as a Scouse accent. They do occasionally mention (for those out there not able to distinguish it) that they are from Liverpool in some of their videos (see their Hey Jude reaction, by that little known Scouse band, The Beatles!!!)
