lol so many (totally valid) comments about the crowd. sum context: this was filmed on a wednesday night in october 2013 in a burlesque bar, free entry, with each act playing 1 song...apart from the gizz who decided to play this at the end of the taping. float along had come out (for memory) a week or so before so doubt many ppl there had heard head on/pill; some probs hadn't heard of gizzard at all. the crowd are very subdued for sure but a wonderful experience for the hundred or so ppl who were there :) o and if ya like the show we still make it, head over to the the banalarama youtube channel: th-cam.com/users/banalarama
When i good band plays some good shit, i honestly forget about all social standards and just flip the fuck out. One of the main reasons to be in front is so i can just flip out on the music if it's earned and i'll just imagine everybody else is too :P Or, at least it's easier to ignore them.

my mum is 57 and loves coming to king gizzard shows. my dad is 62 and is one of the guys who doesn't give modern music much of a chance but now king gizzard and Zappa are he's favourites haha
idk man, i cant go as crazy as i normally do at shows, at king gizz shows. theyre so magical and fucking encapsulating that i feel most natural just watching in awe
saw them last saturday at Hipnosis fest in mexico and they closed the show with this song, I was really surprised they played one of my fav gizz songs. Thank you King Gizzard, yall gave me one of the best nights of my life.
I remember first watching this in 2016 or 2017 when I had first heard of KG. The first album of their I listened to was Nonagon Infinity and I enjoyed it so much that I had to listen to more of their stuff. I stumbled upon this at that time and I still come back to it. It's one of my favorite KG live performances along with their first performance on KEXP.
The audio quality, the mixing, the video and edition is AMAZING given that they were the new kids on the block back in 2013. Kudos to the Banalarama guys.
I say this to myself back in 2014. I glanced at it and thought "hey that was cool!" and moved on. Little did I know this band would be literally be filling my lungs for years enough for me to post this. Easily my favorite band. Thank you Nick
The best gig I saw the Gizz play was at the Croc ,Northcote, the PA system had all the fury to fully justify the band's music. It was a spiritual experience.
If I were part of that crowd I would probably be losing my fucking mind. I would lose control. I would make more noise than all of them combined. I would shout to the gods above. I would dance. I would .... become the lizard.
no? hahaha where did that come from? also - I usually get baked at concerts but I'm not a standing zombie when I do. probably like fifa 15 more than fifa 16.is that a problem?
i dont know about you man but i get stoned and i get warped into the music that im listening to. especially psych and i wanna shake i wanna move and i wanna let it all loose if its live. i can be chill at my home or friends. like common a live show with no emotion from audience but ya bloke get stoned and stand wutever yer preference... my comment is my OWN opinion
The music playing in the beginning while the host speaks is from David Lynch's 1990 hit television series "Twin peaks". Not to be mistaken with "Twin peaks: the return", the return of the show 25 years later which aired a few weeks ago on showtime, I highly recommend checking it out. The name of that song is called "Dance of the dream man" by Angelo Badalamenti.
preciate the response. i'm actually a new fan of the show and didn't recognize the track in this video at the time. i'm currently watching the return right now.
I shake my head wildly watching their videos... and the people who lucky enough to see them live in front of their eyes are just standing still like this??????
true but a good number of those people were just standing around texting like unappreciative/pretentious arseholes. you don't have to spazz out but how can you just stand still while hearing something this awesome??
Dinosaur Jr had the babies we all needed!!! Wow- Jay without Jay What we all needed! EZG unless you like the Murlocs

This is great! The best psychedelia i 've heard in a long time.
those guitar strings hanging out like that have the power to kill while onstage
Not cutting them benefits your tone, supposedly. I've heard a few people say cutting them loosens the windings and muddies up your tone.
@@HighDeafRadio nah stus just lazy probabaly or lost his pliers
@@evanmurphy6640 You're probably right tbh.
It's easier to get them off. Especially a 12 string, like he uses now. Not pretty but functionally integral when you change strings for every show.
He might be using them like that just for the looks!

Definitely the studio version, maybe not this version.
The crowd is so dead, I’d be throwing shit if I saw head on/ pill live
you didn't know what head on/pill was in 2013

Doing his best John Dwyer impression.
