Unfortunately all the lovely things he is advising for the first 7 days is most of the time impossible when the newlyweds are living in the husband’s parent’s house. There is no privacy for them outside their bedroom and even the parents ( most of the time the mother) will complain if they spend more time together in their bedroom. Talking from own experience. It just ruined my relationship with my husband even before we could build a good one. So to all the men who are thinking of getting married, please make sure you can afford to have a separate home with your newlywed wife so that you could bond with each other which will be beneficial for the future of your marriage.

How to deal with parent being angry and emotionally abusive to forcing me to marry who he wants me to marry. Im doing the best i can by standing up for myself but it really takes a toll on me mentally. Especially because the parent is supposed to be an emotional support for their child. Instead my dad is my trauma.

This is a necessary conversation. At NO point in a marriage should force/coercion ever be used in sexual intimacy……not at the very beginning of marriage…..not after several months or years into it……not EVER! Muslim men too frequently quote the hadith about angels cursing women for refusing thr husband’s call to bed. But they either are unaware or ignore the hadith about the hadith that prohibits approaching your wife like an animal. Men need to consider anatomy. NO MAN would find it 100% comfortable if an object was pushed INTO their body. Even doctors and surgeons use ANESTHESIA to numb the pain and decrease the discomfort when they decide to go INTO your body. So….WHY…..should men be careless and selfish when it comes to ensuring a wife’s physical comfort during sex? We belong to a religion where we are supposed to be kind even to animals and this, after all, is your wife….a human being. No man wants for their sister/daughter to go through such harshness. Apply that Golden Rule to your wife as well. Don’t approach her in a way that makes you lose respect for yourself….or for in her eyes…..or in a way that would make you feel ashamed to face Allah.
