I sadly had to part with my Volvo xc70 because I couldn’t afford to maintenance it required, still miss it most days and this vid reminds me of all its quirks and why I loved it 🥰
I would miss this car tons aswell if I had to part ways. Actually had a tough decision to make because the steering rack needed to be replaced, I'm glad I went for it. Thanks, we are happy this could bring back some of the good times!
Great video! I am buying my friends 2004 XC this week. Previous Volvo experiences have been 142's, 145, P1800, and now a 122S Estate. Never had any newer Volvo's than a 1995 940. Miss them all. Great cars!
That's awesome! I had no clue it had 4c till I was doing research for this vehicle and found a purchase guide for the car and saw that as an option! A needs dream for sure!
I have an '07, I bought it in 2012 with 90k miles and I absolutely love it. It was my dream car at the time, which was odd for a single 34-year-old LOL. It was a great car, I loved the seats and it was super practical as a mountain bike hauler for camping trips. I only got it stuck once, it was in a foot of snow and I high centered on a snow bank, pretty much all four wheels were off the ground. It's pretty long in the tooth now at 233k miles, all the little things are adding up and while the motor runs great, it needs more work than the cars really worth. Even though I have a newer 4Runner, I miss commuting in the Volvo, I'm actually thinking that I want to pick up a 10 year old P3.
I recently sold my Brand New 2021 Kia Niro because there was a jerking issue and Kia wouldn't fix it so I decided to sell it back to them and I got more than what I paid because of the car market a few months ago was crazy. Called the pops to ask him about another car I liked and instead he offered to give me a 2005 Volvo XC70. That's why I'm on this channel today so we can be Volvo Buddies! lol I grew up at Volvo Dealerships because my Dad is a Master Tech on them and now has his own shop so of course he is going to give me Volvos. First car at 16 was a 1984 240 model so here I am again with another Volvo. It's Destiny and this particular model actually looks pretty incredible for what it can do off road! Enjoyed your cool and funny video and now can't wait to get mine!
@@-T90Vladimir Hi There, it was happening from stop to 1st gear. I found others online having the same issue. Kia first replaced the dual clutch on my car so they originally acknowledged something was wrong but the problem wasn’t resolved and because the problem was intermittent it was hard to make it happen but Kia did nothing to try and get it fixed after that and corporate wouldn’t help so either I was stuck with possible lemon car or I could sell it. I sold it back to them to have a clear conscious because they know the history on the car but still feel bad for whoever they sold it to because of course they aren’t going to say anything is wrong with it. I didn’t want to sell it but in the end I’m glad it worked out this way because now going to get a solid car and Volvo has much better reputation and customer service then the lower end cost cars out there Kia being one of those.
@@JR-qb7qt Interesting, our car does it in 1st and 2nd too, when between 1000 and 1500 rpm. Early next year I'm planning on getting a Volvo for myself too, hopefully a nice XC70 will pop up when needed.
@@-T90Vladimir do you have a Niro? Some people I found it was also happening in those gears. It is something wrong with the transmission. Someone finally got Kia to replace that and the problem was gone. I tried everything first to get it resolved as I really liked the Niro, great gas and much better price than pretty much all hybrids but that jerking sometimes was very bad and I was worried a car would hit me from behind because there is no notice so I finally just had to give it up sadly. My Dad said this Volvo is an amazing car. He said the new Volvo’s aren’t as good and also has a lot more electrical problems so this era is very good and solid car so I say go for the Volvo! 😁
Amigo ! Among others Volvos, I have the 'same' 2007 XC70. However, mine is the D5 (D5244T4) with the 6 gear auto. I live in the Swiss mountains. My median/average Diesel consumption is mixed (highways, roads, moderate-off roads) is 6.1 l Diesel, that is just HALF of your fuel consumption ! As 185 hp/136 hp is little for a 2.4 l diesel, I most get a chip tuning (not from Heico/Polestar !), very proven, and increase power -> 227 hp (166 kW) and the torque from 400 Nm -> 517 Nm. (All tested on the 4x4 bed). Consumption is even ca 1/2 lower, and the D5 engine is very robust, rarely had a problem. These engines have often made up tor 400 Tkm, with the chip, then we sold them to export. The only weakness is the Aisin TF-80 auto. But with flushing the auto very 100 Tkm, you can avoid problemes. But: this is NOT an OFF-ROADER. To get up to the Alps we have the Discovery 4 3.0 SD (diesel of course).
I honeslty think I would prefer a diesel if Trans problems were not an issue and they were more available in the US. I would love to save some gas money!
I have the exact same car: 2007 xc70 d5 awd and chipped to 225hp and 510nm. Brown exterior, beige interior and fully loaded with options. Fantastic video! Very entertaining and informative. I have a V70R and feel that your XC70 is more practical in every respect. I really appreciated the plastic asmr as that is something that I deal with daily. My factory radio is mostly broken as well. Thanks for all the effort!
Thank you! I happen to be in a dilemma on the other side. I feel the desire to have an R because the xc70 can feel like a tank on these virginia roads sometimes
@@CarCurious Resist the urge to have an V70R. The brakes are amazing and it will accelerate on the highway for days, but the suspension is only built for smooth pavement no matter what mode it is in. I live in Pennsylvania and if I have the suspension in anything other than comfort, I feel crack/dip/slight imperfection. I even changed all of the struts and have the 17" wheels. Oh, I also own a P2 S80 and XC90, the turning radius on all of these cars is horrible. If you are shopping for V70R's, don't be like me and get the 04-05 automatics, they are torque limited to 242 lbft in 1st and 2nd gear and then only make 260s in 3rd. No where near the 295 that the manual cars make. Try the S60R's if you are looking for speed, they are much lighter. Good luck!
I love my XC70 and drives great in Colorado Snow but it would not last 30 minutes in 95% of the 4x4 trails in Colorado. Again love my XC70 VOLVO. Love the video though. You did a great job on squeaky plastic.
I know I want one of these as I have the S60 from that time and love it. Just like the idea of additional load capacity. Would be awesome to drive one across America
I have driven it on long trips and slept in the back. I should take it on a cross country trip, straight east to west coast, and decide whether to come back over the north or south 🤔
I have a 2012 p3 xc70 with a 5 cylinder diesel engine and i absolutely love it!!! It is everything i need out of a vehicle. The squeaky interior, well everything still works after 11 years. I have friends with Audi's and Mercedes that are much younger but have broken interior trim pieces. Loool

with these P2 V/XC70(R) always go for the facelift-models (2005-07) and choose the one with better service history. And, for example, prefer a original Radio (HU 650/850) with telephone integration over a sunroof (if choices have to be made ;-) ). Outside US go for the Diesel (better fuel economy, 2.4l 185hp, and also good for 200km/h autobahn-traveling) ... if your an accessory-hunter (like me) there are quirky options 🙂 ... search for the 40/20/40 Backseats and there is a mini-fridge/armrest available for this 20 position ... tailgate table ... second back row ... there is an aftermarket-Bluetooth-kit, from D5T5, for the original telephone (no need for clunky dashboard addons) ... but still I search for a nice upgrade for my RTI-Navigation 😞
Ok, young fella, you got me. I Subscribed. Your mastery of photo-video production is second to none and the elements you've added to keep the viewer connected are superb. And, you did a great job of showcasing the Volvo XC70. I have a 2001 V70XC (same color as yours: silver outside with the baseball-stitched chocolate brown leather seats) and also a 2004 XC70 that I just picked up for either parts or repair, not sure yet. That one is black with a somewhat lesser quality interior: black seats but not nearly as nice as the V70. They are great cars and everyone who has ever owned one loves them-hands down. I picked up the V70XC in non-running condition after the timing belt jumped, ruining the valves, but I found another head and put it back together. The arrival of the car and some of the engine work videos are on my channel. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Greetings and Best New Year's wishes from British Columbia, Canada.
Thank you! I am ultimately making the video I'd like to see / make and I cab only hope it entertains other so I can continue making videos. This car is great, it certainly has character with its highs and lows and quirks. I'm glad you are making content to educate people on how to preserve this great vehicle. Happy new year and good luck with your future creative endeavors!
Thanks for cool video! Bought 2006 XC70 T5 a year ago for $9K (Moscow, Russia) and had to pay $9K more for repairs and maintainance within this year. No, the car was not a lemon. I mean that's what you must be ready for if you want old car like this. It was expensive when new and it remained complicated in terms of tech. Beware: it's hard to stand it when you see beige leather and wooden steering wheel =)
Good video , I had a p2 xc70 and now have the p3 xc70 both D5 an interesting feature is the drop down dog guard , it can be move to the rear grab handle location so when the rear seats are folded flat no cargo can spill in to the front seat area. Works on both p2 and p3.
I have been looking at station wagons for work and you laying down in the back just settle it, I have to get 6ft of material constantly and ladders, so thank you good sir.
Sweet ride. I just got a 2010 XC70 T6 when my prior car finally died. I’m loving it, it gives up nothing in terms of what I do in mild off-road (I had a compact SUV before) but it’s way more comfortable, responsive, and quick through corners than a typical SUV. And the long wheelbase plus the excellent AWD means winter is a joke to the Swede.
This was probably the best car review I have ever seen in my life! You guys are funny and held my attention, I was eager to here and see what you were going to do next! Please make another video. It could be of anything, and you guys would make it interesting and entertaining to watch!
Thank you so much! There will be new car videos as well as another channel in the works that will cover anything that invokes curiosity in ourselves and hopefully you the viewer. I hope you enjoy what we have in store! Your time is valuable and we want to make sure what we make is worth it!
@@CarCurious 50 million dollars later it wasn't easy but I got valves redone and the cylinder head back on and everything put back together. Back on the road again in Pennsyltucky!
I have the 2004 XC70 and replaced the audio system with a JL Audio AMP, 4 Focal door Speakers and a Kenwood Deck. Looking to add a Subwoofer. Later I will be working on replacing Alternator, Waterpump, Injectors, and hoses, engine mounts and possibly Getting a bigger turbo. It's a great budget off roader that will outlast most cars out there lol.
With Volvo introducing the EX line of electric cars, i hope they can bring the EX70 (or EX60) to market, an aerodynamic, slightly smaller XC70 clone, that fixes all the issues it had, has no maintenance, and is a good vehicle for all cases (weather or road). (as a modern electric car in the shape of an XC70, it should also introduce active air suspension with an air outlet for a camping air mattress or tire inflation.)
This is hilarious.... And you sir deserve the CrossCountry...you understood what Volvo did I myself have a P2 Facelift S60 T5, Volvo gave us so much nice options to choose from with the P2
I appreciate it! There were so many options. If I had to use one word to describe a p2, it would be secure. I feel physically secure due to safety and mentally secure because there are so many I'll have plenty of parts.
By some stroke of luck i found this, i currently own a volvo v70 2.4L non turbo( gotta love the 5 cyl rumble) summun executive, and ive really been looking to get a XC70 T6 full option as my follow up.
How come this channel only has 116 subscribers? this vídeo was brilliant, the type of jokes that really make me laugh. I hope you keep on creating content. Cheers from Spain.
How the f, have I not seen this gem of a video before. I had an exact same xc70, even the same color. Different wheels tho. Absolute machine. I reluctantly replaced it for a 2016 xc60, but I’ve grown to like that even more!
You should definitely consider an Elevate tune! Made a HUGE difference in the performance of my 2006 XC70. Don at Elevate is a great guy and has years of experience, and the tune was really easy to perform.
I have 2004 xc70 with 96k miles. Just had to have the shifter replaced, which they couldn't find and had to get off eBay. Unfortunately now the manual drive on the left no longer works. The automatic is fine.
hi I see again your video 😁 ... I notice that the fog lights are missing, why ? It can be practical and in addition is more aesthetic, anyway your car is absolutely beautiful
Hello, nice video, just bought myself an xc70 2005 2.5T am happy with it. Just wanted to ask what rim size is this? And what tire size you have mounted? And what tire manufacturer that is? Looks really great👍
Thanks! Those are comet wheels from certain volvo models from 1998 to 2000. The previous owner spray painted these wheels trying to recreate the anthracite finish these wheels originally had. Mine are chiping, on the bright side it makes me not worried about ruining them offroad 😄

I consume a lot of car content. This was refreshing and a style similar of that to a mix of top gear/throttle house/regular car reviews
favorite car review I've seen i want more pls!
This means alot, I hope to bring more and greater
I'm in the middle of trying to Get an 04 134miles xc70 2.4D5 an this video has just made my mind up once an 4 All
Good video , I had a p2 xc70 and now have the p3 xc70 both D5 an interesting feature is the drop down dog guard , it can be move to the rear grab handle location so when the rear seats are folded flat no cargo can spill in to the front seat area. Works on both p2 and p3.
Yeah, that would be useful for me, I've got to keep my eye out for one.
Diesel!! Nice
I have been looking at station wagons for work and you laying down in the back just settle it, I have to get 6ft of material constantly and ladders, so thank you good sir.
It can definitely hold a lot. I recommend doing some measurements, I have to lay diagonally to lay flat in the back
*I have the same year and color with 17 inch wheels and 2 burnt valves in the garage up on jacks and I agree it's nice to look at!*
Damn, that is unfortunate
Your wish list is similar to mine! One day perhaps
@@CarCurious Take your time... Surely not cheap lol.
An EX70 would be neat, I hope they make some cool ev wagons!
you put air suspension and no maintenance in same sentence? lol
That actually was a great video mate! What a beauty of a car.
Thank you!
Nice one, well done. I own a 2003 V70 XC and I absolutely enjoy driving it.
This is hilarious....
And you sir deserve the CrossCountry...you understood what Volvo did
I myself have a P2 Facelift S60 T5, Volvo gave us so much nice options to choose from with the P2
I appreciate it! There were so many options. If I had to use one word to describe a p2, it would be secure. I feel physically secure due to safety and mentally secure because there are so many I'll have plenty of parts.
Cool vid...keep 'em coming. 😉
Thank you, I am excited for what's next!
Finally non cookie cutter car reviews
This means alot! Thank you
Great video! I've been looking at these for a while now and feel that I may have to take the plunge.
Cheers thank you! This feedback makes continuing possible!
Please make more car reviews
Stay tuned!
Awesome Job! Keep it up. Start borrowing or turo'n cars for for reviews. You're hilarious.
Hey thank you! Toro is a great service, that thought has crossed my mind.

I just got a white one. same car 07 xc70. love these cars.
How the f, have I not seen this gem of a video before. I had an exact same xc70, even the same color. Different wheels tho. Absolute machine.
I reluctantly replaced it for a 2016 xc60, but I’ve grown to like that even more!
Volvo ASMR 😂😂😂 who knew we needed this!
Beautiful truck right there.... comfortable to drive..
I thought I was going to sell mine, now I want to keep it ☺️
You should definitely consider an Elevate tune! Made a HUGE difference in the performance of my 2006 XC70. Don at Elevate is a great guy and has years of experience, and the tune was really easy to perform.
I would like to know more about this I have the exact same car
Simply amazing
Thank you!
Hey man, this stuff was hilarious, keep it up. Subscribed and wait for more!
I have 2004 xc70 with 96k miles. Just had to have the shifter replaced, which they couldn't find and had to get off eBay. Unfortunately now the manual drive on the left no longer works. The automatic is fine.
Hello! Fun video! What tires did you put on your Volvo? Thanks 👍
I have this car, in this colour, the car aka the Swedish steel aka the Terra cruiser, is awesome as is this review and presenter 🙌
Maaaaan, it's fun ... And educational. Thanks about that ... Well well done ;) ...
Thank you! I'm glad you had a good time!
hi I see again your video 😁 ... I notice that the fog lights are missing, why ? It can be practical and in addition is more aesthetic, anyway your car is absolutely beautiful
Previous owner removed them, I agree, I'm thinking of going for some led pod's
This is awesome. There should be a feature to promote upcoming Content Creators - like yourself! Nice video, great show.
Believe it or not, it's faster than v6 chargers and impalas and some 2016 suv's.
I’m subscribing. Nice video. Cool editing. I absolutely love my XC70 😁
I love mine
I think I’ve seen this ride before 😅lol nice video man
I know there's one with a roof tent and a giga lift kit floating around here somewhere haha. Thank you!
Hello, nice video, just bought myself an xc70 2005 2.5T am happy with it. Just wanted to ask what rim size is this? And what tire size you have mounted? And what tire manufacturer that is? Looks really great👍
Thank you! Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails, I run 225/60R17
I still average 22 mpg in my 03
fire vid boyssss
Thanks!!
I miss my Dadwagen - I think I’m gonna get another.
Those rim's man, absolutely perfect! What name do they have? And what colour they?!?
Thanks! Those are comet wheels from certain volvo models from 1998 to 2000. The previous owner spray painted these wheels trying to recreate the anthracite finish these wheels originally had. Mine are chiping, on the bright side it makes me not worried about ruining them offroad 😄
I have a 2004 xc70 d5 lux it has been a good car for me I have been doing the maintenance aspect but the only issue iv had is the stupid small wire running from the starter motor solenoid to the alternator how on earth did that even get past control blows my mind
This is how you review a car!!!!
I regret that I didn't got one... We went for the xtrail same generation instead.... Not that the xtrail is bad.... Just liked this one better 😂
The Xtrail is pretty neat, it's got volvo like tail lights too 😄
@@CarCurious haha yeah but the xc is ktoe spatious and rides smoother imho
Weird. I have the pre-facelift EU version and I do have a button to turn off the traction control.
Oh my Lord that was very very entertaining 🙏🙏
5:23 God damnit instant sub here, laugh-coffing my ass off! XD Keep on doing what you do man, loved both the informative content as well as the humor! You´ve got that type of camera personality that will most def succeed if you just keep at it! :)
