Fantastic video. Hope you are recovering nicely from your accident. I was hit by a car and hospitalised with the driver driving off a couple months ago so I know the pain. Keep making great helpful videos please :)
Is it possible to do the same procedure while the lever assembly is mounted on the bike??? My main lever broke and I want to replace it without having to empty my hydraulic liquid and rerun the cables. I have shimano 105 mechanical. Thanks for the great vid
Great video. I had a problem with the same leaver. The gear cable nipple got wedged in the mechanism above where it sdhould sit. During using a pic to get it out I've dislodged the spring that holds tension in the gear cable adjustments. Before I take the lever to bits and sell them on eBay - any thoughts please on a solution for getting this spring back on? Thanks
Hi, i wonder if you can help,i have a ST- RS685 right hand rear derailleur shifter, and the small leaver for changing down is very flappy with no spring resistance. Can you advise please.
A question: I have broken the housing on my right ST-R9100 shifter. Lever and shifter components still work. Can i buy a ST-R7000 shifter and swap the lever as you did in this video?
Great video! I’ve snapped the left blade on my R8020, do you know if the R8000 blade is compatible with the R8020 shifter? I can only find listings for the R8000 blade.
@@FreeToCycle but didn't you do it in your other video, where you disassembly the whole ultegra lever? Or is it not possible afterwards to assemble it back?
@@dezoksiribon I have it all apart now, there are two clips on the pin. you have to some how rotate them to be able to push the clips off. I opened the top to release the tension on the piston this helped a lot with visibility. @@FreeToCycle Does the Shimano grx st-rx810 STI work well with a caliper shimano 105 br-r7170 ??? My Shimano 105 st-r7020 STI has been leaking oil. I switched the diaphragma on the side and a leakage appeared elsewhere
Hi, sorry this question doesn’t directly apply to the video, but I’m a subscriber and would like to know how to source the correct size and type of seals for the caliper (R8070) refurb video that you did. I would be very grateful if you could help me out! Cheers.

Excellent video - the clearest I have come across on the internet! I assume the process would be the same for a Tiagra 4703 left shifter?
It's not rocket science. Obviously a great vid mate.. 👍
Did u do a video on how to replace nameplate?

Hi, would I be able to fit an Ultegra 6800 lever into a 105 5800 shifter housing? Thanks
Good video. Helpful.

Hi, does this apply to a GRX 600 level as well?
thanks for instruction, does it also apply to the R8020 hydraulic?
No not the hydraulic levers!
@@FreeToCycle Thanks. Could you also do one for the hydraulic either r7020 or r8020?
The lever cannot be changed on the hydraulic shifters as the lever is not available as a separate part! Complete shifter only.

No not compatible! The lever is not replaceable on the R8020 shifter.
@@FreeToCycle thanks for your response. I was just this second about to order a new shifter. Yesterdays route has become an expensive one.
is it possible to replace the lever blade on the hydraulic version of the lever? If yes, probably much more complicated?

Seals are available on eBay for the calipers! If they are leaking a little then try cleaning the seals and pistons first, before buying replacements.
does this applies to the 105 R7000 as well ?
Yes!
