I am planning on building 3 stalls soon, been watching your videos. Thanks for taking the time to post these its very helpful. I most likely will ask you a couple questions along the way as well, looks like you got a good design going and using similar multi size wood boards.
Yes, the wood i am using is a hard wood and a nail gun would not be able to sink the nails. I have to predrill for the screws so they don't snap when i am screwing them in. This is the downside of using hardwoods for stalls but it will withstand the punishing kicks from the horses.Thank you for watching!
The wood that I used was 1 1/2" poplar. I had a local saw mill cut it for me. The key is to not have it less than a 1 1/2". That way it withstands a kick from a horse.
@@TheHobbyFarmHomestead thanks, I don't think I have a mill close to me but I'll have to see if home depot/lowes/84 lumber has anything like that. Awesome

Sounds like a speedway near you when in fast forward. Funny! 🤣
Yes, I live near a well traveled road unfortunately. It quiets down in the late evening so it's not to bad. Lol! Thanks for watching!
Is there a reason you did boards for each stall instead of having just one set separating the stall?
I used them for more strength that’s all.
This is a very late comment sorry, is there any reason you use screws rather than say a nail gun? Love watching the progression. Cheers.

The Hobby Farm thank you for the reply. Cheers.
Why the space at the bottom of the stalls? I know my guys would wind up getting a foot under there!
I am going to fill to the bottom of board and then put mats down. That will eliminate the space.
What type of wood/sizes did you use? I am getting a pole barn built and want to build 3 10x10 stalls. Thanks for any help
